SILENT HILL. P.T. DEMO

@Degenerate Chef - I saw that a while ago, there's literally zero chance that this is what the op is refering to.

 

The demo is amazing. The way it uses the same hallway to mentally *** with you and manipulate the way you approach it each time is unprecedented in the genre. Not even Outlast touches it. We've honestly reached a point, technically, where horror games can
look photorealistic and genuinely terrify the player. And that's just a part of why the demo is so good. Kojima never disappoints (let's pretend MGS4 never happened).

 

It's more than likely a timed exclusive. I don't think Kojima is doing anymore exclusive work.

He has the taste of multiplatform in his mouth...and he likes it. Now the P.T might be exclusive to PS4.

But I doubt the full game will be, Silent Hill doesn't have the name to be a major exclusive or to cause backlash like Tomb Raider being timed exclusive with Xbox did. Which is also a point for Hypocrite.

I don't doubt that it'll be good. If it isn't an exclusive, I'll try it out.

 

So far it looks like the PT is Sony only but unlike Microsoft who will admit if something is timed or not (after a bit of confusion) Sony generally wont and let the vendor deal with it.

Eurogamer has released a few details on it and so far Sony has never listed it amongst the Exclusive listings they have announced and will not say if its even timed exclusive.

Best guess is that other than the PT it will release on all platforms at the same time which is great news for xbox owners.

 

I think if it was exclusive Sony would have been shouting it from the rooftops, hope it's not as it looks good, although the wife has a thing about Norman Redus so she'll most likely buy a PS4 if it is exclusive.

 

I read it might be 2016 when the games actually comes out. Hopefully now that Reedus is getting a bigger fan base they will make Boondock Saints 3!

Man even I've got a thing for Norman Reedus, I say bring this game on, I can't wait.

I want to forget Downpour ever existed.

 

I'll bet $5,000 she will be Hannah again soon. It will be Hannah Moantana. The Saints movies were 2 of the best movies ever. Not many have heard of them yet watched them. Everybody had her crammed down their throats.

 

If Silent Hills was exclusive or even time exclusive,Sony would already officially announce it.....Remember Destiny,Watchdogs,ect....

 

I watched a successful playthrough of it and wow was it good. I was just watching it and I was creeped out by it. I hear they're doing a 3rd person game though, which is fine, but I think first person is much scarier.

 

I could see boring. I tried it out and just ended up getting stuck at one point and quit, but one thing it definitely delivered was having you on edge. If this is just a taste, I could see it being creepy enough many won't be able to handle it. It's almost
too creepy.

They should stick with FP. you constantly want to keep turning around because of strange noises. 3rd person would severely take that edge off.

 

The 1st 20-30 minutes are really good and really creepy. Then the end just turns into an arbitrary mess of looking at random things in the hope of triggering the end. Whether you find that awesome or frustrating is up to the individual gamer, but I think
one thing Ive learned for myself is that Kojima is really good at wasting gamers time for no real payoff. I did not get to the trailer at the end - I watched it online, but P.T. itself kind of makes me just not want to get anything Kojima is involved with
anymore which is sad because it began so well. I just feel exhausted and not in a good way after playing his games.

Actually "Eternal Darkness" was the first game to implement a "sanity meter". As things happened that un-nerved your character then reality started to warp. You could be walking down the hall and there would be a bust of Beethoven on a side table... but
when you were starting to go a little crazy... the head would be turning and watching you as you walked by. As you started to get very panicked controls might invert or the game would display an error message for your Gamecube (something Rocksteady straight
ripped off themselves with "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and the Scarecrow level giving you an internal Xbox error.

Definately has potential, though the nature of this sort of game does kind of make them a "one play through wonder".
