Signing into Live

My Live subscription was up May 20th. About a week before that, I started to get disconnected from live after a couple of minutes. I would be able to sign in normally, but Live would shut off. Then right around the 20th, I stopped being able to sign in
at all. I've gotten 5 different error codes, one status code, the security error that everyone was complaining about six months ago, a NAT issue that sometimes shows up when testing the connection (there is no NAT issue), and on occasion testing the connection
shows that messaging is down, though it is not down when you check the status website. I've taken the following steps -

• Deleted my profile, cleared the cache three times, reset the console, then re-downloaded my profile.
  
• Just clearing the cache.
• Deleting the last update, then re-downloading it.
• Making sure my security was updated.
• Checking my router and port forwarding settings.
• Power cycling my router and modem.
• Connecting the xbox directly to the modem.
• Disconnecting the HD and re-attaching it.
• Various combinations of the above steps.

There have been times where I have deleted the profile, and was unable to re-download it for quite some time, as well as the same problem with the update. There was a new update that took around 10 times to completely download during the time I have been
unable to access Live. I have not had a single problem in the last 5 years, other than some port forwarding issues I quickly solved when I moved three years ago. I use a wired connection, have the proper ports forwarded, have a static IP that is locked into
my router's DMZ zone (bypasses router firewall). I haven't had live service for almost a month now, and to save HD space I delete my extra content for games I am not currently playing. So I cannot play any games right now because I cannot access live to
get the extra content I have already purchased. Not to mention the free game with gold I cannot get, or the fact that most of my first month of my new year of Live service consists of me just sending money to microsoft for absolutely no reason. Right now
my profile is signed in, but I cannot access Live, even though testing the connection shows Network, Internet, and Xbox Live all connected perfectly.

Xbox sign in trouble

Is anyone else having trouble signing into xbox live? Me and a few of my friends we are having trouble signing into xbox live

 

Sorry, I meant matchmaking, not messaging. I also occasionally get an emcp error when testing connection. Just running the test again shows no error.

It seems you've tried just about everything. The only thing I can think of is downloading the account onto a flash drive and see if you can connect then. If that fixes it then you may have a problem with your hard drive.

Well now, I can connect for a few minutes, though it varies. I'm currently downloading Dark Souls. It downloads for a while, then the download stops. I have to shut the xbox down, then restart it after a minute or so. I've done this 12 times so far,
and the download is 71% done. I really have no idea what's going on here. It doesn't really make any sense. If it was my hard drive, then wouldn't I have problems playing the games I already have on it? I've been playing downloaded games the entire time
I've had these problems since I couldn't download any extra content for the games I have on disc. While I was typing this the download of Dark Souls stopped again, it's now 72% complete. I've been doing this for over an hour now.

 

I started a thread in the xbox 360 support area. This would mean that I get some help right? I mean, at least tell me if you can't help me.

 

Just out of curiosity did this start immediately after the update?

 

No, it started around May 12th or so. The problem has now seemed to come all the way around back to where I began, it's signing me back out of live after a two minutes or so. I've tried removing and reinstalling the update that was live then, and did the
same for the update that came out since. Which was incredibly hard for me to download.

 

So now everything works fine. So it appears to be a billing issue. By that I mean that Microsoft broke my service a week before my subscription was up, then got a month that I paid for without providing me service. They did this to a customer that bought
the xbox and the 360 on the days they came out, and has had live the entire time, but has not yet purchased a next gen system. So now I'll have to play on that stupid playstation controller.
