Signing into game tag question

Ok, next question. How do you remove your Xbox live account when you signed up for Games for Windows?

Really want to keep my gamertag, it's been my online tag for the past 12 years

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. Are you sure you are signing in with the email you use for masterfixer gamer tag? Usually this happens when you use a different email.

Thanks, I appreciate you getting back to me but that isn’t helping.

Maybe I’m not explaining this right.

I restarted my console this morning when I signed back in I didn’t read things correctly and used my email and password to sign in and then started with a new gamer tag with the same email as my old gamer tag.

Now when I sign in it’s my new gamer tag that pops up. I tried deleting the new tag off my console and resigning in but again the new gamer tag pops up.

There is no option to look for tags associated with the same email???

All my purchased games and game pass is associated with my old gamer tag. How do I get my old gamer tag back with this email and onto my console???

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. Usually when an account is inactive for 5 years it is deleted. However, the gamer tag may not be released at that time. Also some people make accounts sign into Xbox.com and never play a game so the account
is active. They may only use it for Netflix or other apps. There is no way to know for sure when Microsoft would release the gamer tag if he account did get deleted.

When I try to purchase the game through the web it tells me to sign in or create a game tag, try again later. I’m already sign in.
