Signing in XBox 360

HELP!!! My son got a 2nd hand XBox 360 for Christmas. We have created an account for him and, on his avatar, it says he is signed in. However, when we try to do anything ie purchase a game online, it says we need to sign in, even though we are!

If I sign in to Xbox Live on my Xbox One, will I also be able to sign in on the same account on my 360 at the same time? Say someone is using the Xbox One in the living room and I'm playing my 360 in my bedroom. Will I be able to use the same account?


WHITTEN: Yes this works! You'll be able to be signed on with the same gamertag on both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One console at the same time. However, like today, you can only be signed into one Xbox 360 and one Xbox One at a time

Red Dead Redemption Error Message Help

I fixed it.

Go to Xbox.com and find your security settings for your profile, then find "Xbox 360 Profile Protection" and set it to require the profile to redownload the profile every time you sign in (this will also sign you off of all 360 consoles you were previously signed into).

Since my 360 had been set up to automatically sign in, I'm thinking the Xbox One thought I was still signed in on my 360, and obviously you can't be signed in on multiple Xbox's on the same profile at the same time, so it flagged an error.

At least that's my guess. I also cleared my Xbox 360 local data and did a console restart.

Just follow those steps and it should hopefully be fixed.

 

Welcome to my hell. So *** with this process.

I went through the steps to create the acct, told MS up there's about my cc but now on a brand new 360 I can't find any place whatsoever to actually log in with my acct info.

If I actually hit 'sign in' it takes me to the stupid local profiles.

HOW DOES ONE SIGN INTO XBOX LIVE ON THE XBOX 360 ITSELF????????????????????????????

Not seven days with this thing and I hate it to death already.

You have to sign OUT of all profiles, hit the big green x button on the controller and go to download profile. Sign into xbox live and start the whole process over for your profile. Then you're back in as you and you can start playing in/with your xbox
live acct on the 360 itself.

F'd process; it should scream at you to have a live acct. Some folks have young kids that don't need a live acct until you're f'n hosed by the game maker and FORCED, practically at gun point, to have the live acct to play the $40 game you just paid for.

I'm having the same problem, got all the way to the end and it just keeps coming up with xbox live signup isn't available right now, I've been trying since Christmas Day!! I've done all the signing out and starting up again from scratch but still to no avail.
Getting really frustrated
