Signing in to profile

I am having a problem signing into my profile. When I go to select it the white circle spins for a while then it takes me back to the profile selection screen without logging me in. I have seen the post about hard reset of console by removing power for 30
seconds or holding down power button for 5 seconds to make turn off fully, but neither work. Each time I do this I have to reconnect to wifi and input password as well. That isn't a big problem for me but my kids can't play the console until I re-connect it.

Every now and then I also get a error code after it doesn't log in. I have looked these up and it recommends a hard reset as well.

Any ideas?

Backwards compatibility question

You can login, make sure you are logged into a profile on your xbox one, then hit the back and start (view and menu) buttons in x360 mode... That brings up the option to sign into profiles and download profiles.

Even if you use another xbox 360 it should let you login to a xbox 360 profile and it should just say it was last signed in on another system. I'd make sure you are signed into a profile, if you are trying splitscreen stuff make sure your friend signs into his xbox one profile before then signing into his xbox 360 profile.

Awkward, but it works. Been busting up borderlands splitscreen in bc for a couple days.

Signing in to profile

Ever since I got my Xbox one x I have had nothing but trouble with signing into my account it's happened so much that I am considering switching to the ps4 how do you plan on solving this problem as I am really starting to get annoyed as I have bought
and downloaded games that I now cannot play due to the Xbox not doing as I want it to

1. restart your xbox and your router/hub

2. delete and re-add your account.

3. after doing that test your connections in the network setting on the console.

If wireless, is there any way you can connect an ethernet cable even temporarily? This might stabilze the connection enough to get updates.

Hi there,

Have you restarted your modem and router yet for at least 5 minutes? Also I recommend connecting your Xbox using an Ethernet cable to hard wire and improve connection to the network.

If that doesn't work and since you don't have a PC, your only options would be to take it somewhere else and try downloading the update there, or send in your Xbox for repair.

If you get no errors doing the network tests, please try turning the console off and unplugging it for 30 seconds and if that does not fix this, I would suggest you use the offline USB update. Click the option on the right of this page "I need to update
my console offline" and follow the instructions.
