    Signing in Family Account

My husband can log into his Xbox Live Account on Xbox One, but when my son tries to log in under his profile, it says "There's a problem with your account. Fix it at account.live.com, then come back to sign in." I tried to see what was wrong, but I'm
finding nothing. Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do? They want to be able to play split screen on Fortnite.

    :)

    Account settings

Two ways to tell if he is in a family as a child account already.

Sign into his account at account.microsoft.com/family if there is no other family members then he is an adult in his own family.

Sign into his account on the xbox console go into settings and under the account tab go to family settings and go down to manage family members and it will tell you if there are any family members in the family there.

    Error code 0x80a40403

hi there i would suggest if the steps below dont work head over to https://support.xbox.com/ and chat to an advisor there to walk you through the steps in the mean time

If you’re receiving this error code when trying to sign in with a child account, it may mean that the child account isn’t a member of your family.

Child accounts that aren’t members of a family won’t be able to use the Xbox Live service until they’ve been added to a family. To verify whether the child account is a member of your family, sign in to your Microsoft account and see if the child’s
account is listed on the Your family page.

    Sign in to your account

If the child account is a member of your family, go to the next solution. If the child account isn’t a member of your family, you’ll need to add them so they can sign in and use Xbox Live. For info, see:

Add family members on Xbox One

    or

Make sure that your privacy settings are set so that the child account can sign in. To do so, have the child sign in to their account at www.xbox.com. Then, when prompted, the adult account associated with the child account should sign in to www.xbox.com
and give permission for the child account to sign in to Xbox Live.

    Signing in Family Account

    Hello MikeSkoropat.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with your account. I would recommend you to remove your account from your console, and then see if you can update your password on your account.

To remove your account on your console you can follow these steps:

    • Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    • Select System > Settings > Account>
      Remove accounts.
    • Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.
    • When you're finished, select Close.
Once you have removed your account, I would also encourage you to perform a power cycle on your console to make sure your account is fully removed from your machine. This can be done by performing these steps:

    • Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
    • Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds. Important
Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    • Plug the console power cable back in.
    • Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
Once your update your password you can go ahead and add your account once more to your console.

Parental consent removal from Microsoft family account

It may be easier to do it on a computer.

Sign into the current parent account at account.microsoft.com/family

It will show anyone in the family under the family member that you want to remove there is a choice for more options when you click on that it will give you a choice to remove from family.

Sign out of that account and sign into the account that you want the child on at account.microsoft.com/family and there would be a choice to add a member where you can add the child to the new account.

Keep in mind while the child is not a member of a family they will not be able to do ANYTHING until added to a family.

Still labelled child account despite being 18 years old

There are 2 factors that determine if an account is a child account or an adult account.

    1. DOB when the account was originally setup. If under 18 HAS to have an adult account attached to it.

    2. If an account is in a family as a child account. Even after the DOB on the account (when originally setup) has reached its 18th birthday it will continue to be a child account until the parental account signs into account.microsoft.com/family and removes
the child from the account. If an accounts DOB has not reached 18 yet and they remove themselves from a family that has an adult in it then it will not be able to do anything until it is put back into a family as a child.

So you will want to figure out what family you are currently in (you can do this by signing into account.microsoft.com/family and it will tell you what adults are in your family currently then you would need to sign into that adult account and remove
yourself from the family. If you sign into that account and do not see yourself in a family that means the DOB on the account when it was originally setup is still under 18.
