Significantly slower download speed

    Significantly slower download speed


    I’m on a cabled 50Mbps plan, and normally get very close to this. On all my other devices I’m able to download, not just a speed test, things at that speed.

    When doing a speed test I’ve been getting the correct speed, but when it comes to the actual download it’s barely getting above 1Mbps.

    It’s not my modem or ISP because every other device is working fine. I’ve gone through the full troubleshooting, including uninstalling the game and trying again. It’s been download a single 46GB thing for nearly 18 hours now and it’s only on 82.2%

    Has anyone else been having this issue?

    You can but boot up time and update downloads will be significantly slower.

    Also, downloads are only slower on Playstation if you are using Wifi. My wired speed tests are significantly faster than my wireless. Unfortunately though most people go for convenience over quality. Doesn't make sense though because a console is not a mobile
    device and 50ft of Ethernet is only 20 bucks.

    Install taking a long time

    Your download times will depend entirely on your home network. If you have low download speeds, or many devices all connected at once, this will significantly worsen your download times.

    The games are also considerably bigger than their 360 counterparts (40GB on Xbox One versus the typical 5-6GB on Xbox 360), which will also make it seem like it's much slower than you're used to.

    You can check your download speed by going to Settings/Network/Bandwidth Usage/Current Usage. This tells you your download speed and by knowing the size of the game you can calculate the expected time to download.
