  1. Significant and disconcerting noise is constant when playing games on recently replaced 360

I replaced my Xbox 360 via service a couple of months ago. So far, it seems to be working fine except for one thing: It is disturbingly, frighteningly noisy. I don't mean "fan running" or "DVD reader spinning" kind of noise, I mean "Air Conditioner Hum"
kind of noise. It sound like an industrial device running at high speed, and the sound is constant when a game is being played.

The noise is loud enough to drown out game sound from the TV, at times.

There does not appear to be anything wrong, the system appears to be working normally, but the noise level is obviously a concern.

Is this a common issue with newer Xboxes? Are there any ways to mitigate such an issue?

    :)

    Xbox CD Drive - Noise?

I purchased my 360 a month and a half ago, and up until now it has been really quiet. Now I am noticing that it sounds like a lawnmower/jet engine when it reads discs. Installing games to HDD worked to a degree, and I have seen no noticeable damage on my
discs, but the noise is very disconcerting. Is this something I should be worried about?

That definitely seems like a cooling fan issue. I do not know which version of the Xbox 360 you have, but I have seen that type of thing with the Slims and Xbox 360 E's. In most cases, that problem requires either fixing the Xbox or replacing it (again in
your case). If you have a warranty and can send it in it will take a few weeks. Sorry for the trouble! I have had the same thing!

  5. Unfortunately, it is not under warranty. I paid $100 to have it replaced, and it is deeply troubling to have to pay another $100 to replace it again after less than two months.

It's the fan's bearing most likely. If Microsoft repaired the console's fans initially, I would call and ask whether or not it can be fixed free of charge. If you went to a third party, then ask for your money back, and find a better place to get it replaced.

  7. It's definitely the disc reader, as the noise corresponds with when the disc is being read. When no disc is being read, the Xbox sounds normal.

Hey, Jeremiah12LGeek! If it's only been 2 months, your console gets a 90 day repair warranty. I highly suggest contacting support via phone or chat again to see if they can get you another replacement, free of charge. Let us know how that goes!
