Signed into Xbox One for the first time and my gamertag changed??

I just signed into Xbox One for the first time only to find out my gamertag has been changed from MissDiggety to this generic . Why did it change? Is there anyway to get my old gamertag back? I've had that one for 7 years!

360 and One on same gold account

If I sign in to Xbox Live on my Xbox One, will I also be able to sign in on the same account on my 360 at the same time? Say someone is using the Xbox One in the living room and I'm playing my 360 in my bedroom. Will I be able to use the same account?

WHITTEN: Yes this works! You'll be able to be signed on with the same gamertag on both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One console at the same time. However, like today, you can only be signed into one Xbox 360 and one Xbox One at a time

Disabling Auto Sign In

I have two gamertags on my Xbone for reasons I won't go into. Anyway, for some reason the Xbone keeps signing into both profiles. How do I make it so that only one profile is signed into at a time?

Your gamertag was found violating xbox lives code of conduct therefore it was changed. From reading the gamertag it may be seen as impersonating staff since they have usually Miss, Mister, Misses, (etc) in their gamertag and they are official staff accounts.

When you signed in for first time you inserted your WLID and password and the system has auto-created your gamertag, which is TogaedPrince332. You can change it for free at the first time, if you have to change it for the 2nd time you'll have to pay 800msp.

To change your Xbox LIVE gamertag please follow these steps:

On your console, sign in using the Xbox LIVE gamertag or Zune tag that you want to change.
Go to Social, and then select your gamertag.
Select Change Gamertag.
Note the Priceof the change, and do one of the following:
- Select Enter New Gamertag.
- Select Get Suggestions to view possible gamertags.
Once you enter or select a new gamertag, select Yes, use this gamertag.

Remember, only the first time is free.

It looks like your brother owes you $10. If you want to change the gamertag that Microsoft created for you when you first signed up for Xbox (meaning you didn’t choose it yourself), you can change it one time for free. After that, all Xbox gamertag changes
cost extra .

I have the same issue. However, on the support page it states the following:

“If this is your first time changing your gamertag, you can change it one time for free. This is regardless of whether we created it for you automatically when you first signed up for Xbox (meaning you didn’t choose it yourself) or if you created your own gamertag at signup.”
