Signed into Xbox Live, but can't play multiplayer.

I bought an Xbox One a couple of days ago and I'm becoming a bit frustrated by a problem I'm having. I am able to sign into my xbox live account and access everything (Netflix, Amazon, and the Game Marketplace), but every time I enter a multiplayer mode
like Matchmaking in COD or just trying to play Destiny, I get an error message saying there is no internet connection. I know there is an internet connection, because I can do everything else. I've done the network connection tests, and the Multiplayer Connection
Test tells me that everything is fine (Obviously it's not).

Is anyone else having this problem? I've played multiplayer on the Xbox 360 just days ago and it worked fine, I haven't done anything to change my internet settings. I'm just wondering if I should return the console because I'm getting tired of this.

no xbox live connection outside of dashboard.

I am signed into my xbox live account on my dashboard but, as soon as I try to play multiplayer online a message states I must be signed into an xbox live account. I test the connection and there is no issue but yet, still cannot play multiplayer online.

Xbox Live connected but I can't play online.

I am connected to Xbox Live but when I go to play a multiplayer game on Xbox Live it says I need to connect to Live to play despite already being signed into Live.

Since I updated my Xbox1 ( March Update) I have the NAT connection issue ( NAT: Strict) and before I updated my console it used to be Open . It seems you have the same issue as well .

Unfortunately, I have not been able to play multiplayer since because I can't sign in to Xbox Live. Also, I can't send messages over xbox.com, so I don't think the code I entered registered properly.

What I mean is that whenever I try to sign into another account to play multiplayer games I can't sign in also my Xbox live gold has been renewed but I am having problems with purchasing games for free I even changed the password for one of my accounts but
it still does not sign in.

You can't play multiplayer with a free membership. You need to buy an Xbox live gold membership to play online.

Yep... also having the exact same problem - also in Canada. As soon as the message pops up saying

" signed into Xbox LIVE" the console freezes. It can't even load the dashboard. If I sign in offline (while not connected to the internet) everything works fine, but what good is that??? I spend my time on my xbox playing MULTIPLAYER. This better
be fixed soon......

The issue is that when we load up the game, it says "disconnected from xbox live", then when we try to play multiplayer or whatever, it asks us to sign in. So we select the profile to sign in under, but then an error pops up saying it can't connect and puts
us back to the menu. It's quite infuriating when all we want to do is play an awesome game like this.
