I understand a little what you are saying, when you log into your account using your email, everything is displayed as normal, is that correct? But when you log in with the Username (The same username linked to the aforementioned email) it shows as an empty account? It may be due to an error or duplicate account, but it is nothing to worry about.

yes this sums it up. As far as I remember when I used my username(without @hotmail.com) it took me to my MS account directly like I logged in with the full email address.

Now it seems this username got linked or duplicated. This happened today as I tried to recover my account after I got locked out. What strange is that the 2 account is having 2 different passwords?

Yes, I meant empty is like no Xbox infos, devices, subscriptions etc.

If you go to https://account.live.com then sign in, click on Overview, then Edit Name, and the first name entered will be what is reflected when it welcomes you during sign in. Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear about the trouble!

It sounds like when you signed up your Windows 8 profile, you used a different email address than the one you use to sign in to your Xbox Live profile. You can add another user to your Windows 8 computer by following the following steps.

1. In Windows 8, select the Desktop tile. Sweep the mouse pointer to the right-hand top corner of the screen and click on Settings and either Control Panel or Change PC Settings. (Change PC Settings will take you directly to step 5.)

2. In Control Panel, click on User Accounts and Family Safety.

3. Under User Accounts, click on Add or Remove User Accounts.

4. Below your current user details, click on Add a New User in PC Settings.

5. Click on Users, and under Other Users click on Add a User.

6. Fill in your details and follow the prompts. Be sure to give administrator privileges to this new account.

7. Now restart your PC and login to the newly created user account. Follow steps 1 to 3 to remove the original account.

If you simply want to change the email address that is associated with the Xbox Live account to match the one that you use for Windows 8, you are going to want to follow the steps listed at the following website:

Hey, do you know if you have associated both of those gamertags with the one email? If so you might want to switch the email associated to whatever account you can still sign into the xbox with.
