sign-in issues: is it the console or account?

Hey, all. I’ve been having this issue for a few days now and feel like I’ve found myself at a dead end.

Two days ago, I tried to sign in on my xbox one x with my account and it gave me a loading screen for a few seconds, and then turned the sign-in page into a black semicircle with a white background. I also tried to sign in with some other accounts, but no luck.

Simple restart, right? But after I hold down the power button, try again, and then after that doesn’t work I unplug the power for a few minutes, but it still refuses to sign me in.

Overnight I unplug (12+ hours spent unplugged at that point), and when I get back from school today it still doesn’t work. Gave me an error code, though. 0x801901f4 to be specific.

So I look it up, other people are having the same problem and they made a post here in 2018. The replies tell me to remove my account and sign back in. I do so, now I can’t even add an account. Just gives me an infinite loading screen.

I go for the seemingly final option of a factory reset this afternoon… and it still doesn’t allow my sign-in? I chose the option that saved all of my data, is that a problem?

I’ve also tried to contact support but it only gave me two options, to either check for xbox outages (which I already have and there are seemingly none), or chat with a basically useless virtual assistant.

So my top three questions are:

- Will I be able to factory reset+delete all data without anything permanently deleted from my xbox account?

-Is this a problem with my xbox itself or the software?

-Why does microsoft support not have a page for error code 0x801901f4?
