Sign In error 0x87DD0017

Every day when i try to turn on my xbox with "xbox on" everything powers on fine. i have my xbox kinect to recognize me and automatically sign me in. For the last week I go to turn on my xbox and i keep getting a "sorry, try using your controller to sign
in" and every time I do it, it fails giving me error 0x87DD0017 the only fix so far has been to hold down the xbox power button for 10 seconds but I shouldn't have to keep doing that every day to use my system. Anyone have this issue before and have found
a real solution and not just a band-aid?

I can't sign in to my xbox account and keep getting the Sing in: 0x87DD0017 error. What's going on??

 

At the cost of losing the Xbox On voice command to turn on your Xbox you can put your device in "powersaving mode". This will completely turn off your console everytime you press the powerbutton or navigate through the "Xbox turn off" command.

Every electronic device needs to be turned off once in a while to be able to function properly, leaving your Xbox on "instant-on" is like always keeping your PC on hibernate or sleep mode. Background processes will keep running and cause memory leaks making
new processes run slower, the same goes for smartphones.

i understand the need to power cycle a device but i shouldnt need to keep doing it daily. having my entire entertainment system set up through my xbox(the way this product was advertised) i don't want to lost the instant on. again, this just started happening.
I feel like i shouldn't have to compromise for a product to work as intended.

 

This is just the way electronic devices work, computers need to be turned off to close opened background applications

 

i disagree. it was working 100% fine until about a week ago. And i have even switched it to energy saver mode and the issue is still there. If you design something to be always on and listening it should work like that. I shouldn't have to compromise. Now
I'm not trying to be a *** here but if you have some other input I would love to hear it but if not please don't respond with the same response again.

 

Anyway I was able to resolve my issue by refreshing my NAT table and refreshing UPnP

 

lol, so essentially what you did is reboot the system, which turning on and off would've done :3 gj
