Sign in e-mail is linking to wrong gamertag

Greetings, I've run into a bit of a pickle here with regards to my main account. It's been a long time since I've logged on so I'm not sure if that may have something to do with it. The problem is this - every time I try logging into the account it loads
up a totally different gamertag/profile (the same one I am posting this message from). It seems like it's a randomly generated profile based on my original one. I've tried resetting the password, etc to no avail. I've even assigned a totally different Windows
Live ID/e-mail to this 'new' account and it's STILL syncing up with my original e-mail!!

I'm not sure what to do here, I'm all out of ideas. I just want to be able to use my regular gamertag (as I've just ordered an Xbox One and I do NOT want to have to use this account and start over!). It would be fantastic if someone could point me in the
right direction.

My main profile is there when I boot the 360 up. My avatar, gamerscore, etc are all there which makes it even more bizarre.

Changing my WLID

hi there,

now that Battlefield 3 is out i started playing straight away ( ofcourse ) then i saw the Battlelog feature so i wanted to sign in with my Xbox E-mail but it said wrong E-mail or password even though they are right and if i wanted to sign in with my other
E-mail they said you need to buy BF3.

just clarifying things :

my Xbox E-mail is not my EA E-mail which i signed up with now when i want to change my Xbox E-mail to the E-mail i use for my EA account it is giving me an error saying that my E-mail is already used by another Gamertag named Boldjarl but that Gamertag i
removed ages ago ! now i can't recover or do anything and so is my battlelog not activated.

Please help

It sounds like you might be using the wrong Microsoft Account to sign in. When you created your Xbox Live account did you by chance use a different e-mail address to sign up? Just to make sure, is R4alGamer the Gamertag that you're trying to sign in with
or is it with a different Gamertag?

Log in the Email that you want to use to account.live.com. Then go to "your account" and click on Manage Email of Phone number. Create a secondary alias and replace the main email. Once the main email is switched to secondary, you can now remove it so you
can use it to your Gamertag. Remember that if the main email is under a reserved domain like MSN, Outlook, Hotmail, Live. you will not be able to remove it to the gamertag where it is currently associated. Removing a reserved domain from being the secondary
alias will delete the Email account. If that is a third party email like Yahoo of Gmail then you're good. Once your desired email is free from any association to any Gamertag, Log in the current email of the Gamertag to the account site. Go to the Manage Email
and phone number and put your desired email to the secondary and move it to Primary. That should solve your problem. I hope this will not confuse you. Let me know if you need more help.

Yeah. If your current E-mail is not linked to a gamertag you will be able to set up your current gamertag with that e-mail.

Is your E-mail linked to this GT?

Hmmm... I already have a free account with my gamertag, but just to experiment, I signed up with another e-mail, clicked link to Xbox, and somehow it linked to this gamertag, which is seriously odd, seeing as that e-mail is not used in any way for Xbox.

Perhaps if you're already signed into a Microsoft site at the same time when you sign up for elite (say... in another tab), it will link to whatever account you've signed in on the other site... if that makes sense.

You are using the wrong E-mail to sign into Xbox.com. Sign into your Gamertag on your Console and have a look at the WLID for your account and sign in with that one. You have actually set up a new profile.

It's telling you that the e-mail address you're trying to use is already linked to a gamertag.

Try logging into the Live site with the e-mail address you're trying to use so you can determine what gamertag you linked to the e-mail address in the past?
