Sign in code - 2 factor authorisation

Hi.

I’m getting the wrong format for the verification code for 2 factor authorisation.

Usually the code is characters with no space but now I’m getting spaces in between them. I use that code to sign in to Microsoft link but it does not sign into the Xbox X.

Instead I get a screen message saying ‘are you still there’

I’ve tried calling for support but can’t get to speak to an agent!

NB I can access the other account that doesn’t require the authorisation

Hey RachelKR, thanks for reaching out for help on the forums. Sorry you're facing an issue with two-step verification. I can understand how frustrating that can be!

I'm not aware of a phone number where you can call Microsoft support. Make sure to use the support website contact information here:

It sounds like there might be a mix up with the verification method. If it's using an authentication app, it will have a different format than if you are receiving a code to your email or phone number.

Try logging into your Microsoft account in a web browser (account.microsoft.com) and checking your two-step verification settings from there. You can try temporarily disabling two-set verification to see if that helps reset the login.

If the sign in issue is only occurring on your Xbox, try removing the account from the console and then re-adding it. Add or remove an Xbox profile:

Do you think that this might have been caused by a 2 factor authentication issue?

My parents gave me a laptop they wanted me to take a look at. It was running Windows 10, so I signed into the Xbox app using my MS account to see how it performed. As I have 2 factor enabled, I got a notification on my phone to authorise the login, which
I did. The Xbox app worked fine - no more loading delays!

I then went back to the Xbox app on my own PC, signed out, signed back in again - no more loading delays!

Of course, I had tried signing out/in of the app on my own PC before, which never did anything, but what I hadn't tried was signing into the Xbox app on a different PC.

This can't be coincidence, as the app literally had constant problems for weeks on end, but the moment I signed into the app on a different PC, then signed out/into it on my own PC, it starts working as normal.

Anyway, fingers crossed it keeps working!

Do you have 2-factor authentication enabled on your Roblox account? If so then disable it, then sign in and once you're signed in, reenable it.
