Sidebar headset settings won't change

So this has happened for a while and I can't find a way to fix it. I have wired controller for the Xbox one and I bought a headset. The controller I have only has the 3.5mm headphone jack for headsets and mics. When I try to adjust the setting on the sidebar,
though the bar moves and I can turn mute on and off, nothing actually changes. When I switch tabs and go back into it, it switches back to what it was before. If someone could help me or tell me what's wrong I'd really appreciate it. This headset has a sensitive
mic and I can't turn it down.

Is My Headset Adapter or Controller Broken?

Go to the left (on the Xbox One menu) (when a sidebar shows up) and scroll to the bottom where it says "Settings".

There should be a headset volume in there if you are connecting the headset to the controller and make sure the volume is on 100% (there won't be an actual percentage but a bar).

Chat headset game audio coming through

Hi.

Today after playing around woth the audio settings i started getting game audio through my chat headset.

I reset all the settings to default but this didnt work.

I even factory reset mt xbox but am still getting them.

I also noticed the audio mixer settings isually on the settings tab of the sidebar are gone.

Hey there!

What type of headset are you using with your controller? It sounds like the settings are possibly resetting when the headset loses connection. Have you tried a different headset or a different controller?

Thank you! Kindly follow the steps below:

1. Plug the headset into the Xbox controller.

2. While in the Home screen, press the Xbox button on the controller. Scroll down to the buttons on the bottom of the left sidebar, and then select the Speaker icon (Audio)

3. Configure your settings as shown:

Set Headset Volume to Maximum
Set Headset Chat Mixer to the Middle Setting
Set Mic Monitor to Preferred Level

Exactly the same problem here. The sound effect for the sidebar but no sidebar. I tried a two year old work around that involved turning off high contrast in the accessibility tab under settings but it had no effect.

It should be in the sidebar. Press it and it takes you to the login screen or just go to settings.
