Please can someone help, I've been having problems staying on xbox live. I swap over from my xbox and pc a lot and i notice that i have a great and stable ping on my pc but i can't be on xbox live for longer than 10 min until it gets disconnected even though
i use a wired connection. i have a 4mbps connection with an upload of 512kbps upload. I've tried everything from port forwarding too DMZ.

    :)

    Fear the Xbox One!

Sick of fanboys, sick of gaming journalism, sick of supposedly 'hardcore' gamers constantly trying to p*ss on the chips of anyone thats got something positive to say about Xbox, sick of keyboard hippies trying to launch a revolution because they don't agree
with certain policies, sick of attention wh0ring insiders (disgruntled employees) trying to boost their ego by stirring the brown stuff and sick of the brown nosing mincers who practically worship them! but such is life on 'teh interwebz'

Keep on laughing folks : )

It sounds to me like we need to troubleshoot your network connection. A lot of this will have to do with which console version you have, what router you have, are you connecting via G/N, 2.4GHz or 5GHz band, the distance between your router and your console,
    etc.

Why don't we get started with you telling us what console you have. Is it a 360 or a One? If it's a 360, which version is it? If it's a 360, are you using an external network adapter or one with a built-in adapter? When you run Network Diagnostics from
the console, how many bars are filled for the wifi connection strength?

I am happy to help you through this and I'm sure others are ready to jump in and help. But without getting the above information I can't even begin to diagnose what may be the issue.

Anxiously awaiting your response Sick of struggling with xbox constantly disconnecting :) , BOM

The problem is that the router is thinking that your PC and the Xbox 360 Slim are on and the same machine. You want to assign a specific IP address for both your laptop and your console and you also want to setup Port Forwarding for the Xbox Live services.
    I found a great resource
which should help you with this very situation. I have a feeling that this will resolve your problem.

On a side note, when you use the LAN cable, you should use Port 1 on the back of your router for the laptop and Port 2 for the console. Don't just unplug the one end and switch from laptop to console. Alternatively you could buy a second LAN cable which will
also reduce conflicts within the router.
