Shutting down

Hi SteelREVOLTIX, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

No worries, that shouldn't be a problem but to improve your console shutting down period, you can perform a powercycle by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

As long as there is no issue with the console performance you should not be worried.

It would only shut down when you turn it off, or if you leave it idle for some time (there's a setting for that).

It should never shut down abruptly while you're playing a game.

Several questions for you:

- Do you get any sort of error message when you turn it back on? no

- Are you able to turn it back on immediately after it shuts off? yes

- Are the system fans really loud and the console is hot to the touch after it turns off,

perhaps from overheating?no

Sometimes before it shuts off it freezes as well. it does make a loud noise like a disc is stuck. sometimes it just kicks from games

If your Xbox console won't turn on, your power supply may be faulty or improperly connected!

It may simply need a power reset. Often, power issues are due to the power supply resetting after a power surge.

To reset the internal power supply, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord from the console.
   
2. Wait 10 seconds.
   
3. Plug the cord back into the console, and then press the Xbox button  on the front of the console.
   

If the issue persists, here are some points to check:

• Check that the wall outlet you’re using is working with other devices.
  
• Check that the power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet and to your console.
  
• Ensure that you're using the power cable that came with your console, and that it's the correct cable for your region.
  

If your console still will not turn on, it needs to be serviced. To request service, sign in to Microsoft account | Devices with your Microsoft account and submit a service order.

It's pretty safe to say they won't be shutting down the servers for the 360 for a good while with backwards compatibility coming for the Xbox One. As for game servers run independently by publishers and developers that would be completely up to them whether
they stay online or not.
