Shuts off and because of "over heating" when it's been on for less than 2 minutes

Is this a fairly recent purchase? Depending on how long youve had it, are you still under warranty? Or, if you purchased with a credit card, many card companies also automatically extend warranties. It sounds like a definite hardware issue, so the question
is really just how to get it replaced/fixed and if you have any avenue that will do that without cost to you.

You are best of getting in touch with the Device service and replacement service. If you are no longer under warranty, you may have to pay to have your Xbox serviced/repaired.

Guess I'll try asking for a repair to see what they have to say about it. I'll probably just cancel ling my gold and game pass if I cant get this resolved.

Scorpio preorder release so no, not recent at all, dont remember how long ago that was, system rarely get used. Thought I had it fixed, did a system reset and Devil May Cry 5 worked yesterday after, wanted to make sure it was fixed so I reinstalled Metro
Exodus and shut off on me again on menu. Now DMC5 wont get passed menu either 😭

I had considered that, but it doesn't quite seem to fit. First off I haven't noticed any abnormal fan noises and or any excessive heat, the unit is very well ventilated, as is the power brick. But more importantly, this morning for example I turn it on,
it booted right up, but was on for less than 2 minutes and immediately shut itself off. I rebooted it and it stayed on for oh, maybe 10 minutes, then shutoff. Then reboot again, it stays on for 2 hours. It would seem that if there was a heat issue it would
be related to a) how long the unit was on, and b) how hard it is working. It seems to shut off just as often sitting on the home screen as playing a game.
