    I have searched the web profusely but all threads seem to be how to disable the game bar from running entirely.

    My question; why is it not possible to use the Xbox controller to shutdown the system like it is on the xbox?

    It seems like such an easy/obvious implementation and I can't believe it isn't an option m

    I believe that you're referring to Windows PC. I am not certain about why they don't provide the option to shutdown your system using a controller, it may be because we already have the keyboard to navigate through the system without using a mouse.

    Hi,

    While it can be done via the companion app, the quickest way is via the Windows Game Bar via
    Xbox Social. You can access the Game Bar in either of two ways:

    With an Xbox controller attached to the PC, access the Game Bar by pressing the Xbox button.

    Without a controller via the keyboard, you can access it by holding down the
    Windows Key     and pressing G on the keyboard.

    Depending on how the Game Bar is set up on the PC a number of Windows will be displayed. Showing as Online or Offline is available in the
    Xbox Social window. To configure the game bar to your liking, press the
    Overlay Menu, next to the time. This will allow you to change what Windows of the Game Bar are displayed.

    The Windows 10 Game Bar can be used to do what you've asked here. The Beta App's main function is to download Game Pass games (which actually download via the Windows Store).

    To open the Game Bar hold the Windows key and press G, or press the Xbox button on an Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller.
