Shown offline when online

I have a friend who is on Xbox live and playing online but on my Xbox it often says he is off line, we have checked the privacy settings already. Also while he is online and never logs out, it shows up on my console that he logs in randomly around 10 times
a hour.

We are trying to play ark survival evolved and believe it's causing problems with me joining his game. Once I join his game though I have no trouble a staying connected.

A Problem with my online status!

Hello, I hope somebody can help me because I got a Problem with my online status.
I am coming normaly online like every day but my profile is shown up offline for me and my friends. I can still play online and talk to my friends but they never know that I am online. I also haven't activated the "offline show" that means I
should be shown online but I don't.... I hope someone can help me and I would be very happy. Sorry for that bad English

Like said above yes, all achievements unlocked offline will be shown when you connect to live.

I'm having the same problem with my account. I always appear offline. My wife and I play together, sitting less than 10 ft away on separate consoles, but to her I show offline. It makes it difficult to game together. She cannot invite me to a game or chat,
she sends invites but they never show up on my screen. I HAVE to be the one to invite her. This is true of other friends as well, we've tried 2 other people inviting and checking their friends list. I am offline to them as well and none of their invites come
through. We've tried swapping consoles, I still appear offline. My security settings have been reset twice now and have not fixed the issue. We have one mutual friend we play with that has the same issue. We can't see each other online either. I have searched
the forums and can find a few threads with the same issue. None of the suggestions (hard reset, etc) have worked for us. Hopefully there is a fix, if I find one I'll post it here.

Hey guys,

Sorry to hear that you are having these issues. Let's try a couple things.

With each step, I've included the supporting article needed to complete the corresponding step.

1) A power cycle of the Xbox's because let's be honest, what troubleshooting guide doesn't start there.

1A)

2)Let's try removing the profiles from the Xbox and signing back in. This seems to fix a lot of the other issues that power cycling doesn't.

2A)support.xbox.com/.../remove-profile-from-console

3) Check your network type and resolve any Nat Types/Network Errors that may be causing a problem.

3B)support.xbox.com/.../nat-error-solution

4) I know that you specifically mentioned ARK, if none of these work please try playing together on another game if possible. If that seems to work, then you could always contact ARK support to see if they have any suggestions for you in addition to what
I provided.

I hope this helps some/all of you to get these issues resolved.

My suggestion: Keep your profile set to offline at all times unless you WANT to be shown online. If your profile is set to online, it will always show you online, even if you shut off your xbox then come back, guess what? It'll show you online.

If I don't want to be bothered, I just set it to appear offline all the time.

hi, I think u missunderstood, and same for the other answer I got here.

what I mean is : My account is alwayas set so I am shown online. this is done in settings. then sometimes I change it as i play a game for example if I go AFC to eat or so, then I set it so i am show offline. When I am back from food I change it back to
shown online again. And since I make these changes NOT in setting menu, but from pressing xbox button and clicking left button to the end so I come to my profile popup window, and change it there, it will take some minutes as I understand for it to go thru...cause
I know it takes some minutes for others to see it and when other do it it takes minutes fopr me to see their change.

having said that, that is what i think u talked about.

However that was not my intended question, i wonder this :

I am playing in evening, shown online. I go to sleep.

Next morning i wake up, I NOW want to log in and play my game again, BUT, I do NOT want to be shown online. how do I do this ? is it possible at all ? cause as soon as I log in I am shown online, so I need to be shown online to ALL others BEFORE I can go
to my profile and change it to offline....?
