Show all games and apps goes black

Thanks for the suggestion, results.

All games and personally selected apps are on the 4 tB drive, nothing on the Xbox One X but the "pre-loaded" apps.

Did a full reset of the Xbox One X with the external drive disconnected. Let it do its initial updates.

External drive still disconnected

Set up my account to test it straight away

once logged in, opened "my games and apps" 10 seconds later black screen.

again no games or personally selected apps added to the Xbox One X internal drive.

I removed my account from the Xbox One X. I had not loaded any others so this is an "empty" Xbox (no accounts). I opened "my games and apps".... 10 seconds later black screen.

Thanks again for all your help. Obviously I will need to involve Xbox support.

Now the "dumb" question, how do I contact them? I originally tried to contact Xbox support and was not able to find any contact information or instructions. I could only find links that instructed me to post a question to this forum.

I could be blind, clueless, or a combination of both.

Thanks for the Update. You certainly put the effort in well done

Since it only happens when you sign in your account, it is either your whole account or it might still be one game/app in particular that is stuck.

To test if it is one game perhaps, since you have two Xbox's now - sign in with your account and transfer one game at a time, and see if the blank issue happens after any particular game/app?

Has part of your test been sign in with your account on the newly reset Xbox, and not transfer or install any games? So basically just your account signed in, and no games or any apps installed except those that were already on the Xbox?

If it is your account, then only Microsoft Support can help. Since you can answer all their troubleshooting, should go quick for you. If not, ask for a supervisor. Xbox support I'd say.

Just wanted to provide an update on this situation with the "my games and apps going black".

I purchased a 4 TB drive and moved all the internally stored items to it then did a complete reset to factory on the console. I put myself back on the console and tried the "my games and apps" section. Still goes black.

Now with the latest update, the first start screen goes black in about 10 seconds after I log in. It comes back with a press of the Xbox button and selection of home.

I still can access "my games and apps" if I disconnect the Xbox One from the internet and thus from "live" I can navigate "my games and apps"

I'm wondering if my "launch" one is having issues with its internal drive.

While it seems that game saves survived the rebuild, I did / am experiencing some fun with Rockband 4 DLC. The game wouldn't find the songs until I moved everything back to the internal drive. Such is the fun of things.

Any further suggestions will be appreciated. I'm starting to consider a rebuilt launch unit as I do utilize the Kinect.

I'll decide on my patience quotient before I call support.

I just checked and yes there are readily available adapters for Kinect. Some months / years ago there was a market shortage, i didn't realize production was back. I might look into replacing the launch Xbox, but I might just
wait till the fall and get a series X.

I can manage by disconnecting the Xbox from the internet.

I understand about the patience. I call and talk to "tech support" all the time hehe. Just help them gently with their job, without making them feel under trained, and you get good results I've mostly found. If not, say thanks bai, and call again ;-)

I can't wait for the X … though I do have a gaming PC anyway haha. But it will basically be a propriety computer anyway, even more than the existing electronic devices.
