Should there be a low content post rule?

i don't think there would be much benefit from it, willing to bet it will create more of a hostile environment than a friendly one.

i've already seen more than a few people complain about the forums blocking their right to freedom of speech(because they don't actually understand what that really means), i can only imagine how many more threads would pop up daily saying that MS blocks
the First Amendment.

They did contribute even by posting I think, the best posts are normally the ones that make fun of the idiot Tha is posting haha. I could understand if this was a forum for serious matters but its just gaming forum for people that play games. Playing games
is fun not serious, supposedly anyway.

A well thought out response there Juice and Goth but your posts are the perfect example of what I mean.

Why don't you think the rule should be in place. Why do you think a rule to stop what is essentially spam is not a good idea?

I'm not suggesting everyone writes a twelve page essay every time they post but surely what I suggest would help discussion on a discussion forum.

so basically what we're attempting to do is impose your values on someone else's idea of worth. what makes your 100 word comment any more valid than someone who posts five words?

it's a slippery slope. you can't place value on anyone else's comment but your own. if the comment is somehow violating rules, then leave that up to the powers that be to determine.

but no, we don't need a word limit. not yet at least. sometimes people just want a one word response .. for example "should i buy this or not, yes or no?".

No but there should be a rule about some people ( I can think of one for sure) that start threads like.

To me they just want a post count, look popular, wait long enough not to tick off most people with their reply. It just wastes forums space.
