Should players with gamerscore resets ever get a "real" second chance?

You can't mod items as far as I am aware, only the colour of your avatar. Since Microsoft don't sell that option, they aren't losing any money there either.

So why does one offence get a ban but the other just a 'warning'.

If you mod I think they should relock the hacked achievements, making you earn them legitimately. The second time should be a perma-ban.

No ban them outright they had their warning when they agreed to the code of conduct.

I enjoy how straight to the point - no bull - about how you did it and accept the fact that the damage has been done.

But the fact is, still, you cheated to get a better gamerscore and you have been punished by having all your existing achievements stripped from you. Your punishment for cheating was losing all the achievements you had legitimately earned alongside the modded
ones meaning even if you did it legit, you can't go back and unlock them again to boost your score back up.

But, tbh, you have more respect from me for moving on from it and keeping the same account.

Microsoft did remove the Cheater banner from profiles at xbox.com (back before the update to what we have now) and returned the ability to change their gamerzone for some people.

That's enough of a second chance I would have thought.

Never understood why gamerscore cheats got a reset while people who modded their avatar got banned for it. Looking it up both things are done nearly the exact same way, so surely they should share the same punishment.

A conspiracy theorist might say that the avatar modders get banned because it is more easily noticeable online.
