    Should I return this Xbox?

The first time it happened I dismissed it. This Xbox is about a month old and aside from the constant minor issues everyone else is having (also doesn't play music in the background like our old friend 360) I turned on my Xbone today to see this annoyance
again. The screen will flicker and show static and scanlines. In the background you can see the game you've loaded but just barely and it's squished or constrained to the top left corner hidden behind the madness. All the static and scanlines are white in
color and change orientation from vertical to horizontal. I can't find anyone else who has posted about this and I'm beginning to think it's my burden alone. It's on a 4k TV if that helps and the settings are perfect. My picture when it's working is phenomenal.

    :)

I think I would. Mine is a little over a year old and if it makes a noise, it's very subtle and not very noticeable. i would do it while it's still under the warranty.

Thats what I'm thinking, I keep seeing videos where people say this kind of thing is normal but I don't think it is as its constant and ca be heard about 4 feet away quite clearly. Sounds to me like a dodgy read head or something, just worried its going
to go from bad to worse eventually and I will lose my console.

I assume you have gone into settings/display and experimented with different settings?

I would recommend T.V connection set to hdmi rather than auto, Colour space to standard and colour depth to 24 bits.

If the above is of no use to you, then yes, i would say get a new unit by either taking it back to the shop or setting up an advanced exchange with MS.

My recommendation would be to switch the HDMI cable that you're using. That may fix your issue, if not, try another HDMI port on your TV. If after both of those tests, the issue still happens, you may want to look into getting a new Xbox or sending yours
    in for a repair.

The HDMI cable I'm using is a 4k cable from Monster. It's brand new and works fine on every other device but I appreciate the suggestion. As far as settings go I don't think that would be it either considering the fact that my picture looks great until the
    box goes haywire on start-up.
