  1. Should I port Trigger My Xbox One X?

I am looking to speed up my Xbox one X's wi-fi. I read on how Port Forwarding can speed up your wi-fi or sometimes change your NAT to Open. The things is I I can't find 'Port Forwarding' on my router, the AC4000 MU-MIMO from Tp-link.

However, under 'Nat Forwarding' there is the option called 'Port Triggering'. I was wondering if I could use this to maybe speed up my Xbox connection, like Port Triggering.

The port triggering option asks for 'ID, Application, Triggering Port, Triggering Protocol, External Port, External Protocol, Status and Modify'. Where would I get this info if I should use port triggering for my xbox one x?

    Xbox live Nat type strict

    Hey ,

Do you i think that I wrote the Ports bad ? Im not sure if should i write it to Virtual Servers or Port Triggering ? Should the triggering port be same as external ? And should the internal Ip be same as my IPv4 address ?

Xbox One and 360 on same router - NAT type strict on 1 open on the other

One question though, why wouldn't port forwarding have worked? I initially tried that but for whatever reason I still had a strict NAT.

That's because you can only manually port forward one port to one device only.

With Port triggering, the router actively watches which device requests the port, and dynamically forwards it to that device: "Hey, the Xbox 360 sent data on port 3074, so I'll forward the ports to the 360." (A bit later) "Wow, now the Xbox One sent data
to a port on my watch list, I'll re-route the incoming data there now".

Port triggering however ONLY works if the device FIRST sent out data on a specific port (the trigger port).

With Port Forwarding, you manually tell the router to route incoming traffic on (a) specific port(s) to one specific device. If you try to route a port to a second device, most routers will tell you that this port is already assigned to a device already
    and can't be forwarded anymore.

The problem the router has is, that the router needs to decide to which device an incoming data packet should be sent.

Unfortunately, if the Xbox in your network did NOT initiate the conversation first, the router will not know to which device in your network (Xbox 360, Xbox One, your PC, your sister's laptop, etc...) the data packet should be sent.

The same would be true if it were possible to port forward to two devices on the same port. If a data packet arrives, should it be sent to Xbox One or 360?

With Port Triggering, the traffic gets sent to that console that requested and triggered the port most recently.

What is a a cone NAT?

Triggering is a general port forward and should not specific to any one device. Try triggering the ports again with 16000 listed as well...Worth a shot I suppose. Sorry not familiar with home hub's

    It's UPnP -OR-

port forwarding or DMZ or port triggering.

UPnP should be disabled if you use port forwarding or DMZ or port triggering.

CANNOT use two Xbox 360s at same time with SMC (bridge mode)

"DMZ and Port Forwarding are solutions for just one Xbox. The other Xbox will be cut off. Use Port Triggering, instead, to trigger on outbound UDP traffic from port 88 to open up inbound UDP traffic on port 88 and to trigger on outbound UDP traffic from
port 3074 to open up inbound UDP+TCP traffic on port 3074."

How do I do port triggering instead of forwarding on this router?
