    Should I install my xbox 360 games onto my hard drive


    I want to know if I should install my Xbox 360 games onto my hard drive. I read online that installing games will decrease the wear and tear on the game disc and on the optical disc drive, thus making the disc and the optical disc drive last longer. I also
    read online that installing and playing games off of a hard drive will increase the wear and tear on the hard drive, and reduce the lifespan of the hard drive. On the other hand, playing without installing will make the game disc and the optical disc drive
    wear out faster but will protect the hard drive. So what should I choose.

    Another factor is that I'm going to be playing xbox 360 games that are pretty old, gta IV episodes from liberty city and la noire the complete edition, so if the discs get worn out, it would probably be really hard to find the games. It would probably be
    harder to find these games than it would be to find a new hard drive. At least that is what I think. Would it be harder for me to find those games or would it be harder to find a new hard drive for an Xbox 360?

    Trouble playing xbox original games on my 360

    I never said you can't install games onto the hard drive, you cannot install original Xbox games onto your hard drive. There is a difference between original Xbox games and Xbox 360 games. All Xbox 360 games that have discs can be installed to the hard drive
    (assuming you have space). Original Xbox games cannot.

    Hi there, it really comes down to the wear and tear on the console itself and not the discs as they should be fine unless you move the console while the tray is spinning. I personally can't recommend installing the games enough though, it reduces overall
    wear, better performance and overall longer life of the console. If the hard drive fails, I would say it's because it's faulty and not because of general wear and tear.
