Should I give Dead Rising 3 a chance?

I'm not a Dead Rising fan. I didn't like the first game or the second, I couldn't even bring myself to beat either one. I tried giving Dead Rising 2 another shot today and every once in a while I had some fun, but for the most part it was a chore to play.
The time limit, ridiculous psycho bosses, idiotic A.I., and clunky gameplay just ruin it for me.

That being said, Dead Rising 3 is still on my list of games to play. I've heard it doesn't have a time limit which is a HUGE bonus because that was honestly the worst thing about the other games in the series. There's so much to do in these games that being
rushed around is a buzz kill. I've read some reviews but I'm still unsure. What does the Xbox community think about it? Should I give the series another shot or is Dead Rising 3 too similar to the other games that I'll end up being annoyed with it again?

    :)

    Which title to get

Dead Rising 3 is a launch title so you should definitely get that.

Yes. I like 3 much more than 2 or 1. If you have a friend the coop is awesome in this game.

I would also recommend setting up smart glass once you get rolling.

  5. I've only played the first and 3rd, but I put a lot of time into both and although you can definitely see how it's evolved, number 3 is such a different game compared to the other two. You can also play with no time limit so you don't feel rushed in getting
    what you want done.

The combat and crafting is also a lot better and once you're max rank, it's seriously impossible to die (well it seems that way), I suggest giving it a go as in a lot of ways it's the same game with all the annoyance taken out. I think you'll enjoy it a
    lot more then the others.

Though I do kind of miss that helpless feeling you got being Frank in that mall, nothing will beat the first game, I loved it, haha.

The timed quests are still there.

It's annoying because it's awkward to start off and do all the stuff you want to straight away, but like the other games before it you're not meant to do it all the first time around.

As your character improves you'll be better equipped to deal with what's going on in the world around you. Visually it's very prety and there are tons of Zombies on the screen.

The Timed Quests aren't as "in your face" as in the previous mode but they'll still dissapear if you don't get to them in time.

That being said you should still be able to enjoy yourself. It's a good game.

Get it! I also wasn't a fan of the first and second games, but I bought 3 anyway and loved it.

that's the thing that I found most challenging about DR 1 & 2 was the time limit for quests and such. If most quests have the time limit option off, I would be pretty keen to snap it up at some point and having co-op is always a plus.

  9. They are still timed, but you can restart the checkpoint at any time which restarts the timer, so yes it's essentially without timed missions except when you play nightmare or whatever it is, which is the timed, harder version of the single player and cannot
    reset mission times.

Also I did everything on my first playthough, all collectibles, missions etc.

I've watched videos and it look greats visually, but I'm still really hesitant to get DR3 because of how much I hated the first two. I got about half way through DR2 last night and I couldn't keep going, deleted it off my 360... It takes a lot for me not
to be able to finish a game, this is only like one of about a handful of games I haven't finished at least once.

Should I give Dead Rising 3 a chance?

I was wound up by the 2nd one. Really disliked the Chuck Greene story. It might be a video game and not serious but when you have kids of your own it's hard to be entertained by the prospect of having to keep your daughter alive.

But I found "Dead Rising 2: Off The Record"... the same game... but from a Frank West perspective... and that was just a hoot to play.

Not only that but they even had a "Vacation Mode" that allows you to just jump in and mash Zombies for fun. Stuff the story and it's time sensative events.

"Dead Rising 3" is a good game. You've just done a lot of the stuff before.

I did not like the first 2 Dead Risings, the time limit in 1 or 2 just flat out killed the games for me because I like to explore the worlds I enter. Dead Rising 3 (in my opinion) is the best to date, and you can play without a time limit. I recommend
    getting it for sure.

So there isn't a time limit but there are timed missions? Also if there isn't a time limit that's great, but what about the clunky controls, cheap psycho fights, and stupid A.I. making escort missions a chore? I love that they removed the workbench, making
things whenever and wherever is a great improvement.
