Should I get Thief

The scores it's getting tell me this is a game one should try to get in the bargain bin, not new.

 

I'm not gonna try and convince people this is the greatest game ever released because it's not.

But I'm still finding myself compelled to keep playing and had to make myself turn it off and go to bed yesterday.

When a game is "Genre Defining" like this one then it's always going to be a let down if it's not a Triple AAA experience (and it's fun so far but AAA it's not).

 

It's not the greatest game out there. I'm enjoying PvZ more.

 

I've only just started playing it and to be honest I think it is awesome.

 

Regarding the scores, it's still sitting at an average of 69 on Metacritic for the Xbox One edition, so by now means is the general consensus that it's terrible.

Also, I know I shouldn't be saying this since it's an Xbox forum, but if you have the PC to run it I'd suggest getting it for PC. You can pick up a sealed copy on Ebay, new, for £18. I've just whacked in an order for a copy today.

 

It's both sad and funny that people can't grasp a simple rating scale. It's complicated, I guess. A 20 or 30 on metacritic, would equal "terrible". A 69 means the game is a little above average. A decent game, but nothing great. You basically think the rating
scale goes as follows:

10 = Amazing game

9 = Okay game

8.9 - 0 =Unplayable garbage

I facepalm every time I see this nonsense.

 

Yeah, writing a game off for having a 69% metacritic score is ridiculous.

In fact writing ANY game off for it's Critic score is ridiculous.

Critics are tools. You can usually read between the lines and get a bit of an idea as to what the game is actually like.

You really can't trust reviewers nowadays. They've got their heads stuck so far up their own backsides they wouldn't know a decent game if someone slapped them upside the head with it (case in point: "Ryse").

 

So far loving the game but is because i am a big Thief fan. I was expecting a new Theif since Deadly Shadows.

 

How did you go OP? Did you end up getting it? Did you give it a miss? Or are you still on the fence about it? Or Watched a little bit of gameplay video of it and it looks like a decent game but in personal opinion not my type of game.

I ended up getting it, and I'm actually enjoying it a lot. It's a fun "chill out and play" game. It's not one that you get extremely addicted to, like you gotta keep playing, but I think that's just because of the theme of the game, I think it would be hard
for a stealth game to do that. But overall I think it's a good game.

 

It is an ok game. Not that bad, but not that great either. The storyline is not really that interesting too be honest.

 

thief is epic! if you are a fan of the series and of stealth games you should get it or wait for titanfall!
