Should I get Thief

Seriously the patch sizes are getting ridiculous. 6GB is a full game! PS4 version only has a 90MB update for some reason. I'm just thankful I'm working all day today so I can just leave my XB1 on to download it.

 

What difficulty are you guys playing on?

 

Despite the mostly bad reviews I'm still eagerly awaiting for it to be released tomorrow.

 

Apparently the A.I. are awful on "Easy" to the point that you get a poorer experience.

 

I am sad it didn't turn out better

 

So much for that. I don't know why, but when I think of Thief, I think of Dishonored(which I still need to play) Got dat GOTY for 20! Like a pro. Which one is better whoever has played both?

 

why don't you watch a walkthrough on youtube and see if you like it. maybe it'll help you make up your mind.

 

It reminds me of Dishonored which makes me really want the blink power.

I've played for an hour or so and although I haven't been overly impressed by anything, I'm pretty intrigued as to where it's going and I do like stealing things.

I'm still in two minds whether I should try and not kill or knock anyone out, I'm playing on the master difficulty and it seems like normal difficulty though I obviously haven't gotten to any really hard parts yet.

 

This arrived today and the good news is that I'm enjoying myself as I play the game.

The bad news is that this is the ugliest game on the XBox ONE.

The entire Catalogue including "FIFA" and "Need For Speed: Rivals" outshine Thief graphically by a mile.

I do love stealing things. There's a smoothness to your stealth movement and you are rewarded for keeping an eye out. I do feel like I've "earned" the stuff I steal rather than "gotten lucky" or benefitted from A.I. so dumb it wouldn't know that I'd stolen
it's boots if it stepped in a puddle (though there are a few moments like that, they're much fewer and far between than in similar games).

I don't like the fact that they seem to have set this game in their own 18th Century revolutionary town like "Dishonored". I played "Dishonored" and if the games are similar it should be because of stealth, not because they're knicking each other's stories.

Rent it or make sure you get it cheap and though you'll notice how poor the graphics are compared to everything else out for the 360 you shouldn't really feel stung.

They were both kind of "ehh" to me. But probably Dishonored so far. At least it was interesting and not as annoying haha.

But clearly never played a Thief game before. Dishonored completely ripped off Thief but with 'powers'.

 

I'd wait for it to cost ten bucks sixty is to much for this crappy game

 

Man, so far everyone seems so meh about this game. I'm still picking it up though. I've really liked all the gameplay videos I've watched so far.

Most people would have figured that these are the same genre without your thoughtful interjection but thanks for defending the Internet I guess.

How are you finding it?

You do own it right?

Though the graphics are a sore spot it's easy enough to get immersed in the game while you're playing. I found myself quickly becoming addicted to grabbing shiney stuff.

If there's a guard who I really should avoid... but he's got his wallet or coinpurse hanging from his belt... I can't just go around him. I have to sneak up and pinch that money.

Fortunately it's all the rage in the capitol to wear your wallet at the back of your belt, and if you're really hip... to wear two!

I don't know, this game is pretty boring to me. A good game will compel me to keep playing it. Just one more hour, this next chapter, the next checkpoint. Yesterday, I stopped playing to go take a nap. I'll finish it. But I guess I just need to look forward
to Ground Zeroes for my real stealth fix.
