Should I get my Xbox repaired? Cable issue or port issue?

I got an Xbox Series X about a year ago and no problems with it until now. The console works fine but the hdmi port isn’t working properly. I don’t have the knowledge to tell if it’s damaged or not, but I tried multiple cables and none worked, I went from my monitor to my tv, and didn’t work. I also tried to hold the eject button and power button and nothing worked. No display. The Xbox does turn on and does seem too fully function but from what I see, it’s just the display/port. And the last thing I want to do is spend hundreds on repairs.

    :)

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Seems like you have performed all the necessary steps, CtrlAltOof. In this case, if the console turns on but not displaying anything, it would be best to get the console repaired. You can sign in to https://account.miicrosoft.com/device to create a repair order for the console.

Xbox series x power cord falling out resulting in the xbox turning off

Update: I submitted a repair request. I dont think the cable is the issue. Probably the port on the xbox itself

My xbox one s display is messed. I have screenshots?Does anyone know how to fix

If it is an xbox issue send it for a repair but first try a new HDMI cable or cleaning out the port because dust can cause issues like that

    Should I return this Xbox?

My recommendation would be to switch the HDMI cable that you're using. That may fix your issue, if not, try another HDMI port on your TV. If after both of those tests, the issue still happens, you may want to look into getting a new Xbox or sending yours
    in for a repair.

Xbox one x optical port is loose

I have also had this issue but on my Standard Xbox one (Not S or X) and yes found it to be a difference in cable connector size. In my personal experience, having tried a large Worldwide marketplace websites cheaper cables and also more premium brands. I
do find Premium brands to be a better fit in my optical port. The cheaper generic cables tend to be a fraction smaller from what i have seen. Mine dont 'click' in either per say but stay fast and firm once placed.

I currently use Belkin Branded Optical cables and dont see issue with those..

If you do try other cables that fit better and encounter issues then it maybe an issue with the port itself, but I honestly think it may be your cable too as SuprX BR has said...and you dont say if you have actually had issues with your audio.

In case you do think theres an issue with the console, more info on warrranty and repair can be found here

Let us know how you get on with a different cable wont you

    Good luck
