Should I get an Xbox One S?

I have been thinking of trading in my PS4 for an Xbox One S as I started a new job in July and I am trying to save some money, the backwards compatibility for the xbox 360 games would help save some money, I have always been a playstation person because
I am used to the controllers, the people at the game store tell me not to trade in my PS4 because it's a better system and there are more exclusive games for the playstation, half of me doesn't care about the exclusives, any advice you can give would be appreciated.

    :)

    which should i get ?

for use with both games i would say the rock band drums are the best to go for. The layout of the GH drums makes it awkward to play RB on. However, if your mainly playing guitar/band hero then go for the GH drums.

Plus, you can get the RB drums for under £20 from alot of places at the moment.

Neither set are perfect and will probably break so keep the receipt.

Do what you want to do. If you like the games on the One, get the One.

Hello, i will tell you my opinion. I was before a Playstation fan too, but i decide to switch to Xbox for a lot of reasons, and yes i was used to the PS controller too, but after you get used to the Xbox, you will notice is a better controller, more for
shooter games, more ergonomic, more durable becuase is made with better matherials. My actual console is an S too, and the catalog is huge also the options, a lot of great deals, i bought games in ridiculous prices not just backward compatible, also modern
games, example, Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light both games for $7, Batman Arkham Returns, that also brings 2 games for just 9.99, Garden Warfare 2 for $6.25, always you can find great deals, also the Online service is far away better, the console has a better
design and better heat disipation, the PS4 all models are noisy and the system gets more hot because the disipation is worse than the Xbox. It is true about the exclusive games, but you can count them with the fingers, God of War, Horizon Zero Down, The Last
of Us, and Uncharted that i personally dont like it, is a cheap version of Indiana Jones or Lara Croft, so if you can live without this or just finish this games before switch you will have more pros than cons. Xbox has a lot of exclusives too, one of them
maked me decide for this console than Ps4, was Killer Instinct, also i can recomend you Cup Head, Forza the best Automibile game, Halo and PUBG, tittles that doesnt exist on PS plataform.

  6. Play the console you feel most comfortable with. Yes, playstation has alot of exclusives but with xbox you have access to backwards compatibility, game pass, cross platform play and many other great options.

They are both consoles but it really just boils down to your preference and definately don't rely on a game store to give you great input. Most of those guys are made up of fanboys and will only direct you to their personal choice.

  7. When choosing any platform, the only thing that really matters are the games. Are there any games that interest you enough to make the console purchase worth it?

The great thing about Xbox One is that backward compatibility is free if you already own the game (disc or digital), as opposed to PS4, which achieves the same thing through a paid cloud-streaming service. One thing to make sure before you jump
on anything, is to see if your OG/360 game is currently supported for backward compatibility, as not all OG/360 games are available.

Should I get an Xbox One S?

I personally have the original Xbox One Console (2013) but it’s really fun! Yes, the exclusive side of Xbox isn’t very good but the quality of gameplay and what you get on Xbox is great. We have Game Pass, EA Access and Gold! Xbox Live Gold comes with a
30-day free trial and PlayStation only give you 2 days. It’s all personal opinion honestly and what you feel more comfortable with - if you have friends that play on the Xbox One then go for it!

  10. Hey DBW1978,

It really is up to you. However, I do have an Xbox one S and it is amazing!

    • Xbox live is amazing and works consistently.
    • Games pass is a great feature!
    • I like the Xbox exclusives. I play a lot of Halo and Forza so the answer is obvious for me.
    Best,

  11. Hi there,

As Smwutches and others have said, it's going to be your call. Here are few questions to help you with your decision...

Do you play more solo games, or co-op/multiplayer games? If co-op/multiplayer more, what console do your friends play on?

If you've always been a PlayStation person, what is making you look to get an Xbox now?

With a new job, are you spending more or less time playing on a console?

How does getting an Xbox One save you money, assuming you don't have any games currently?

If you are trying to save money, you need to look at purchases as falling into one of two categories -
Needs (things you need in order to survive-shelter, food, etc.) and
Wants (things that can make your life better, but is not required to live-theater/movie/concert tickets, new TV when your current one works fine, etc.). Wants are things people save up for and spend their 'extra' money on after all the Needs
    (bills) are taken care of.

Both consoles have their good things, don't get me wrong. I'm just not following the logic of saving money by purchasing a new console.

    Short answer: Yes

    Long answer: Heck Yes!

The thumbstick placements on a PS controller is the worst placement in the history of controllers so I’d change just for that.

Should I get an Xbox One S?

I want to try the Gears Of War games, the Halo games and there are about 7 more for the Xbox One I want to try and around 9 with the backwards compatibility, I have always been a Playstation player so my concern is the Xbox controller because I am used
to the Playstation controllers, I know the buttons without looking at the controller itself, I preordered the new SpiderMan game but I just finished watching a video and now i'm not sure if I want to get it or not.

The buttons on the Xbox controller are pretty much in the same layout so that'll be easy. To me the Xbox controller is a lot more comfortable than the PS controller which is why I prefer it.

Hi, at the end of the day it's your money, and your choice, do what will make you happiest, and give you the most joy, entertainment and fun out of your console.

What I suggest you is have a look at this
    list of backwards compatible games
, and if you would play any of them.

    Also check out
    game pass
, it offers over 100 games at one low monthly price.

    There's also the
    Games With Gold
which you can redeem with your Gold membership, should you choose to have one.

As for the controllers, the most recent playstation controller I've used is the PS2 ones, so not sure if that's a good comparison, but I don't have any issues the the Xbox One controllers (although I do use an Elite controller 90% of the time, and the other
10% I use a steering wheel, and would recommend the Elite controller, if it's not out of your price range, since you are trying to save money, not spend it.

Hopefully you will find that information useful, and enable you to make an informed decision.
