Should i buy the xbox one or a playstation console

I have heard that PlayStation has postponed the release of its next console to encourage more people to get more people buy the current one until this crisis is over. What I am trying to say is. let's say because I am home all day I want to consider buying
a console but the new one is coming out at the end of the year what are u going to do buy the current one only to own it for a few months before it is outdated or wait for the next one. I mentioned a discount rather than postponing the next console because
they will have a headstart over PlayStation for the next-gen consoles but at the current moment PlayStation will have an edge because they have solved that issue for many people. But if they put it at a cheaper price than PlayStation I think Xbox will end
up getting more customers. (I already play Xbox so this situation does not go for me) But, I have a few friends that are currently in this situation.

I algo have this problem. Send the console for service and received a new one a week algo. I am having the same issues with this, although less frequently. What should i do? Wait for update, send for service again or sell it and Buy a Playstation....
