Should I buy a Xbox One?

Wait until a game comes out that truly justifies you buying the console.

Your PS3 plays blu ray films. And you don't need a fitness game in order to be able to exercise indoors. Cardio exercise is the only form of exercise that will stop you becoming fat, so on the spot running is the only type of indoor exercise you really need
to be doing.

The Xbox One is still in testing phase with more updates and changes on the way. Plus it will most likely be even cheaper by the time a real next gen game finally surfaces on it.

Its well worth the money. Just dont expect this game to go easy on you, nor for it to hold your hand. Very first level, youre dropped into an area, with a rusty dagger, and a giant boss that you need to get past. Its not a game that you can really rush,
and get through as fast as possible, and dying is...well, expect it a lot

you will be glad you bought it...i was a little iffy as well...not being really big into rpg. but i lovethis game. a peice of advice go slow...obsereve your surroundings constantly...you have a shield USE THAT $HIT! and play like you are actually the character
and it is your life on the line...once i realized this the game got a lot better.

Like Lei Fang said, I just got my Xbox One last week as well but with Kinect! Honestly the Kinect is really worth it. Voice commands are great and super fun lol. And I'm just learning about gestures and they are awesome too. So if i were you, I'd go with
the Xbox One Kinect bundle. I'm loving my Kinect in less than a week of having it already.

 

1) the official statement about distance doesnt work for me,neither with Kinect 1 nor with Kinect 2. Iam never able to play the sports games without trouble. So you better add some extra distance on the recommended one.

Especially as with Xbox fitness you need to lay down your whole body at some points, so you have to see if you got that space infront of your tv while not being too close because it wont detect you .

My overall statement about buying one or not would be: if you see games on the platform that you wanna play right now- why not. If not,than better wait and see how things are going.

I also want to confirm: you cant record live tv on Xbox One ,you can just pause it.

Just a small question for you, wamseycake - you do live in the UK, right? I ask because if you live anywhere else, the TV tuner may not work due to the signals it uses. Otherwise, the Xbox One has my full endorsement and I sincerely hope you enjoy it if
you do get it.

 

I think I will still get it and yes I do live in the UK. I might wait until the crew or gta v is released. I may not bother for the time being with the tv tuner and connect my youview box to it instead. Can't wait to have a play around with it though!

I would say, without reservation to take the plunge. And I'd highly recommend the Kinect bundle. If you want to tell you system to turn on, you will need the Kinect. It works surprisingly well in my very small room. Though I could never do a fitness game
since I just don't have the floor space. It works very well with my Samsung TV, Sony HTIB, and X1 DVR from Comcast. I've had it since day one and man love it.

Right now, the system does not have a cable card. In the US, all it does is pass though the HDMI feed from your DVR to your tv and or surround sound. You can start a recording, but all it does is blast the command through Kinect to your DVR, so you'll
need a DVR from your provider.

As for controls, I tried the DS controller on the PS3 and really hated it. My very first console was a PS2, with stock controller, and felt that was awkward also. I hardly played the PS2. But I played my 360 quite a bit. The controller for me was very
comfortable, and the Xbox One controller is nearly identical to it. It's very comfortable, and the buttons are easy to remember and use. Like others have mentioned, I'd highly recommend the plug and play kit. And I'd also recommend getting an extra controller.

Line of site is only needed for the controller to the Kinect. You can keep the console in a cabinet. It now plays 3d Blue Rays, and in an update in the very near future, it will support DLNA servers.

There's no need to wait for the perfect game to come out. There are plenty of really fun games out already for it. DR3 was so much fun to play, I played it every free minute I had until I finished it. Tomb Raider was also fun. Watchdogs, while other
game interest me right now, is also fun. I have COD, and just need to get back to it. Battlefield is somewhat fun also. I've spent a lot of time with Sniper Elite 3, and will probably do another mission tomorrow. There are also some interesting games from
XBL like Outlast. Diablo 3 is out next week, and September, October, and November are huge release month with Sunset Blvd, Halo, Destiny, Evil Within, Dragon Age, and I think Quantum Break.
