Shoddy Xbox Ones in Ireland

There are major issues with the Xbox 1's coming off the shelves , I've had the Xbox One for little over 2 weeks and had to replace one and I'm currently SERIOUSLY considering replacing my 2nd XB1. The first xbox I got kept turning off, I had played it a
total of 5 hours! I left it overnight and it was broken.

It would turn on for 5 secs, the power pox would glow white and the front LED light ( or xbox symbol) would glow and then POOF , turned off . I checked online and people were/are having the same problem.

I replaced it at Argos , now this replacement wont turn off. The console just keeps clicking , click click ... click click... click click click click click click ... ( the power box was glowing white the whole time) . I've checked my power source and it's
perfect. I have used it for my tv , sky on demand and my XB 360 and never had a problem!

There are some other issues with the console , the dashboard screen freezes , it takes ages to install a game. ( The system says it has trouble " syncing with the cloud" , however I went into settings and tested connection and it turned out fine !

I will have to get ANOTHER replacement . I've chatted with my friends about this issue and they've simply told me to buy a PS4 , which I'm really considering.

I was/am sore over my 360 debacle. I gave the XBOX the benefit of the doubt when I compared the 2 consoles when deciding which one I would buy given its history. I had to get my Xbox pro repaired twice and it finally collapsed after my warranty had expired.
I took it to get repaired and I was told it was 'unrepairable', I finally bought an Xbox elite and had no problems to date (fingers crossed).

2 Xbox one's down in 2 weeks !

My conclusion is that the 2 Xbox ones that I was given by Argos were/are shoddy. If I encounter another issue with my 2nd replacement I will label it as a design flaw, and I'm afraid that will be it for me.

Don't get me wrong I love Xbox and I received great joy from the 360 , but this cannot go on. To date I have paid € 499.99 for my Xbox One or by today's exchange rate $ 638!

Can Microsoft please explain to me why are there so many Shoddy Xbox Ones on the store shelves in Ireland ?

Xbox One Controller Update

Try using a good quality mini USB as opposed to the shoddy cell phone ones. It will definitely work with the play/charge is all I can say.

 

Shoddy controllers!!

6 weeks ago, i purchased the 'Titanfall. bundle from GAME, 2 extra titles and an extra controller. After 3 days, the left side of the controller started to come apart, leaving a slight gap between the seam. After trapping my skin in it, i returned it and
got it replaced...no problem.

5 weeks later the replacement has done exactly the same, i decided to open the 2nd controller i bought...and guess what, its exactly the same!! Neither have been dropped, misused in any way, its not been left near extreme heat or cold, yet they still came
apart. After contacting support ( i use the term loosely), the lovely man informed me that the condition of these controllers come under 'warranty exclusions' and i am not eligable to have either repaired or replaced ??? WTF £500+ on a new console, and this
is what you get ??

The said console is going to be returned to the shop on Monday, and i WILL be getting a refund. MICROSOFT...you need to examine your cusomer service agents and policies!!!!!

 

Let me ask one question - you mentioned that the "power supply you're using worked for your TV," etc. etc. Does this mean you are plugged into a Power Strip or Surge Protector? I ask this because it is NOT recommended to plug your X1 power supply into a
power strip/surge protector, because what happens is, the Power Brick actually already has a surge protector built into it, and plugging it into a second strip chokes the flow of power to the Console, which is power that it desperately needs during its startup
routine. (This problem is also what caused many of the Red Ring of Death issues on the XBox 360.) Over time, this will cause extra wear on the internal components, and in some cases, the system simply won't be able to start.

It sounds as though you may need an additional replacement, yes, but let me first suggest you try unplugging for 5 minutes, and then plugging directly into a wall outlet and see if it works. (The clicking, though, sounds like an internal, possibly drive-related
issue.)

I plugged my console into a wall outlet with a standard residential voltage supply of 240 Volts AC 60Hz. No , the first Xbox One was faulty , because my replacement has had no trouble starting up while connected to the same socket/wall outlet .

This was mentioned in the thread above.

Yes , I have disconnected the power cables and chords and re-applied them after 30- 60 mins ( in some cases) no change !

Drive related ? you mean hard drive right ? I'm not an Electronic engineer I'm afraid just a dumb customer .

The only way that I can turn off my console ( and might I add the safest when working with defective electronics ) is to completely disconnect it from the power supply. Not the best way to shut down any system, but again I'm thinking safety!

Had trouble syncing my xbox one , the original broken xbox profile is obviously interfering with the sync.

However eventually I was able to continue playing from where I had left off.

Yes I'm thinking replacement too!
