ShenMue on Xbox One

oh by no means was a dismissing it from a 'gaming' perspective as a whole, its just not my type of game at all. These Japanese Hentai things creep me out and are quite frankly just weird lol

In any case, Shenmue 3 is not happening. That was obviously him just name dropping it as a joke in answer to the question because rabid fans are always bugging him and everyone else who could possibly make it come to fruition. Shenmue 3 is on of the industry
's longest running gags which only serves to rile up fanboys of the series.

I myself stopped hoping for a sequel years ago, no point in setting myself up for disappointment year after year.

 

The lack of demand for originality from gamers is all to depressing. How many threads do I sift through on a daily basis on here that are all about, "What games would you like to see remade for the One?"

Seriously, Shenmue is on the Dreamcast. Go pick one up and play it. I'm sure it's super cheap. Everyone here has such rose tinted glasses for nostalgia.

 

Before releasing Shenmue 3 on Xbox One, Microsoft would need to combine with Sega to launch Reboot of Shenmue and Shenmue 2 on Xbox One because otherwise the new audiences won't understand anything in the history of the game.

Shenmue is worshiped in Brazil and in Europe, in addition to Japan of course. Shenmue is the kind of franchise that Microsoft should buy, so she bought the franchise Gears of Wars. Alias Microsoft should buy Sega and revive the days the flies main Sega franchises

That's a long list of games, Mr X - I don't think you're going to get all of them (or possibly any of them for that matter).

As for you, iBakez, please look up the definition of hentai. I think you'll find that it's not only not appropriate for these forums to mention, but it also has no place in a game like Shenmue.

 

GG, I was referring to the post-mortem they did for Shenmue, not when Phil mentioned it in the interview. Sorry for the confusion.

Spencer...you just broke my heart into a million pieces.

Then again, this is a game I played A LOT when it was first released. I would want the 3rd to be built using the original engine with no visual upgrades. So maybe this decision is for the best.

Its one of those games that you have to have played at the time (around 2000) to really appreciate it. I can understand people not liking the look of it.

 

It would be great to see the 3rd made. I was hoping this would come out on the 360 years ago.
