that there is a great demand for
ShenMue on Xbox One.

What does this mean?

Means that Sega will release
Shenmue for all next generation
consoles, including the

Shenmue 3 exclusive to Xbox One with Shenmue 1 and 2 as part of a remaster collection.

I'm not sure what he means, but if they bring Shenmue back, I will be purchasing it with a wide-smile on my face.

 

If you launch a Reboot of ShenMue exclusive for Xbox One, I get a single file if need to be huge this game on its release.

 

if so many fans want this and asked him a hundred times about it. why Reject them? why let so many people down? it wouldn't make sense to not make shenmue 3. of course theyre bringing it to xb1. saving it for E3. system seller in my book.

 

I don't think it means anything. I think it'd be a huge mistake for Microsoft to do any sort of deal to make a new Shenmue. I just do not see a game like Shenmue selling at all today, except from the very loud fans of the series, which I doubt there are
as many as it appears.

If Shenmue were to return, I think it should be a smaller digital game. Similar to Alan Wakes American Nightmare. Just do something small to wrap up the story for the fans. Don't invest too much time and money or else it will blow up in your face Microsoft.
There's a reason Sega hasn't done this, and they are not exactly raking in the money these days.

You know what's funny, This past weekend I went through my closet and found my old Sega Dreamcast, and a shoe box of games and low and behold there was my Shenmue double disc game. I popped it in and what a blast!!! I would gladly buy it if it came out
for the One! Imagine what they could do with it!!! (what a solid built machine the dreamcast was and is)

Shenmue amazed me because of all of the different things you could do in it, which for the time it was released, was absolutely remarkable - and that's not even counting the fantastic gameplay and story!

 

Shenmue was an open-world game before there were open-world games, so why would this NOT be popular now? I really do hope they can do SOMETHING with this, but it is a Sega property, so Sega would have to be the ones to do something.

I did wonder about the timing of the GDC discussion on Shenmue, though. Why bring it up if there are no plans for it?

but that's also the problem - by today's standards, it's not that great. However, considering it was among the 1st in video games to give us open-world exploration, a truly cinematic story, in-game backwards compatibility, side-quests, QTE... I could go on,
but I digress.
