This is what annoys me the most, we're western gamers but some of us do enjoy these games, and it seems every decision is based on the Japanese market first.

I did assume and doubted that these titles would come to XBOX ONE, which is equally frustrating because we got FF13 and we're getting FF15, so what is going on? If it's a complete remake Square should have the decency to also allow us as XBOX players to
have a copy.

Shenmue I'm just disappointed, I owned a Dreamcast when the original was out and it was absolutely a great game, and it really frustrates me to who the people at the top of Microsoft and what they are doing to actively get some titles.

I just feel like we deserve more than what we're getting, we've survived so long in this industry and bought some great innovations, why are we being sidelined? Why does no one from the HEad of Microsoft give us answers?

It's bad enough Sony bailed out Street Fighter 5, and now Shenmue and possibly FF7 as an exclusive... that's a big blow, I'm sorry but it is.

 

So far,it's exclusive to dreamers.....Nothing has been made yet,wait four or five E3....

Also,Sega still owns Shenmue IP.

Yu Suzuki got" a special deal" with Sega to use and trying to make Shenmue 3.

And with a budget under 30 million,i don't see how they will make a Shenmue game, in today standard.

 

So potentially Microsoft could still give a help in hand and make it multiplat?

Are there any Sega games that are exclusively on Sony? This is quite interesting. I am aware the original took over $40mil to make. That's why I hated the E3 kickstarter thing, it was only used as a publicity stunt to garner interest, the guy on stage
didn't even care from Sony which is what made it more disgusting.

I really want this on XBOX ONE too it would have been nice having this as an exclusive.

 

Not surprised about FF7 at all. Besides, If Square Enix could, I bet you anything that they would put it on the Xbox One because it equals more money to them. But since Sony SCEA is one of the publishers, Sony probably has the console exclusive forever for
that game.

For Shenmue 3, I agree. There's no reason why MS couldn't offered the developer the money to make the game available for the Xbox One. Why MS didn't Who Knows. The most likely reason is that Ys Net is a very small developer that has Shenmue's creator, Yu
Suzuki, and they are based in Japan. They probably only have the funds to make the game on 1 console and they are playing it safe and planned on putting on the PS4 only all along. Which is probably why Sony kicked in some funds after the kickstarter met its
original goal.

 

I am disappointed regarding Shenmue 3 as well. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot that is known about Shenmue 3. And the original Shenmue cost (i believe) 47 million dollars back in the late 90's. And i am not certain if that price is adjusted for
inflation either. Shenmue is cult classic... I enjoyed them thoroughly. But it hardly gathered any support on the feedback website with 3500 votes. (i understand the entire Xbox community doesn't use the website). But the kickstarter does show an impressive
amount of interest.

Regarding FF7 they did say "play it first on PS4". This sounds like a timed exclusive. Personally, this does not interest me. But i understand the nostalgic factor. I think it will only go to PC, because the older games from the 90's were only on the
competitors consoles. Xbox is still the young underdog in this race.

And backwards compatibility.... Almsot all of the games are coming. There will be over a hundred by the end of this year, and hundreds by thus time next year. I believe you will have access to all the older games you want to play with backwards compatibility

Some Sony executive did an interview with Gamespot(I think) and was pressed about the exclusivity of FF7 and he didnt offer much. I think its timed(like Tomb Raider seems to be) but might only come to PC. Either way we will be waiting a couple of years to
find out.

 

Yep OP, it is a very clear sign of MS failing. It's kinda sad that in your other Thread it got locked and you were attacked by the locals because you voiced your concerns in regards to the future of Xbox One and its continuing
descent into critical failure.

Your words will not be heard around here as anything negative about the X1 or MS is blasphamey.

MS loses the single biggest fighting Game in the world and soon to be its Developer as a whole, check.

MS loses one of the single most desired Remakes that anyone actually wanted and more then likely the Developer as well, check.

MS loses one of the single most desired Sequels to a Game, check.

MS continues to have the sub-par versions of every Multi-plat Game, check.

But no one around here sees any problem with any of the above because MS put in BC for a select number of Games.

 

I dont understand the secrecy of waiting to find out what systems, just say. It's pathetic.

I'm not sure, there are still some games on coming to us that are great, but they're 3rd party and are on PS4 too, things like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Final Fantasy 15.

In regards to our exclusives are they enough? I'm way more inclined and excited unfortunately for the remakes that Sony offered, even though years away, it's heartbreaking to see it happen.

Rare also announces a 30 game back catalogue of old games, most of which are 8/16bit era and great for quick nostalgia fun, but after 30 mins shelved again. It doesn't even include Donkey Kong Country or Goldeneye, probably some of their fondest games,
obviously for Publishing reasons with Nintendo though.

Backwards Compatibility is just a joke, when are we going to move away from the 360 and start focusing totally on next gen.

They really should have had backwards compatibility from the get go, now we're wasting time developing it, and there's bound to be hiccups which will use more time and effort which could have been spent on other new invigorating titles, or even the rebirth
of much wanted classics like Shenmue.

I just want to know if I'm the only one frustrated by this? People here just seem to be like "whatever"? I don't think that attitude is going to help. At the end of the day we are supporting a system because we own it and like it for various reasons,
yes we can go and buy other platforms, and this is essentially whats happening now because of title exclusives, it IS no matter what you say console orientated, and I would like for people to actually want this console to succeed above the competitors, but
there's so much complacency being shown, and the attitude that backwards compatibility is ok and everything will be fine, I just think it's a bit naive.

 

Just imagine how well it would have gone over if MS announced a kick starter (lol) game. Even if it was Shenmue they would be getting blasted by everyone in the industry but because Sony did it it is magnificent. Okay so a small budget and 4 years later
you'll probably get a shell of what the game used to be.

Besides an extra 180p resolution and a few extra stuttering frames a second what games run so much better on PS4.

From where I'm sitting Gears 4 looked class and Quantum Break looks great.

At least MS has the best racing game hands down and it's not even close. Sony will have good games sometime next year. Me, I want them now and more this year so that's why I'm happy I have my X1.

Maybe, but it could be telling that Sony never really mentioned it was a console exclusive like they did with other games. And it will be coming to PC just like Shenmue. Shenmue however is said to be console exclusive.

As for these games I am not excited yet. They are a ways out and there are more immediate games I am interested in. And then I would not be surprised if Shenmue is delayed. I could see that as 2018 or so. Far enough out that my excitement meter is at
0. Would be the same for any game. I love Mass Effect but telling me about a 2017/18 release does little but let me know they are working on it. And with some games we already know they are in the works due to popularity and $$$.

 

I do agree, with you. These games will probably be delayed and with all the rumours of them changing the battle systems for FF7 and tweaking here and there, it could end up not being as good as the original.

Same with Shenmue the, kickstarter is there still gathering money from people like the drones that they are, but it's been 14 years. As much as I want those games, I can't help but feel it may turn out for the worse if we did have them, only time will tell
now I guess.

I just hate the way it's plastered everywhere and this is all we're going to see for the next 5 years until they're out.
