Sharing Xbox Live Gold with my son

Hi, I recently entered the 1 month trial of the Gold membership with my account. I'd like to know if I can share it with my sons gamertag (he has a child account), as in a family subscription, or I should allow him to log in with mine. After the trial I
plan to buy the 12 month subscription.

We have an Xbox 360, btw.

Does your son have an xbox live gold account or is there a gold account with gold sharing set up on the console?

Xbox gold home

With the new xbox live gold home, is there a way of sharing your xbox live subscription but NOT your games?

My son has his own xbox now and would like him to use my gold subscription but without access to my own games.

Gold sharing is only available on the xbox one.

Your son would need his own gold subscription on the xbox 360.

I'm trying to subscribe my son to the Xbox Live Gold 1 month trial, but after selecting my credit card (within his account) I receice a message saying I need to change his permissions. I went to Privacy and online security, selected his gamertag, change
settings to allow him to buy. Closed all sessions and tried again. Same result. I checked his email and his inbox is empty.

I need the Gold account to be linked to his gamrtag, not mine (Xbox 360).

It may be better to simply purchase a subscription card from a retailer so that you don't have to worry about leaving a payment method on file with his account that he can use to make purchases that you might not want to pay for.

Hi, yes, that would be a good idea for the future, but for now I can't take advantage of the 1 month trial.

As others say to you, you can easily share your Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

Power On your Son's Console -> Download your Profile (you need email and password of your gamertag/account) -> navigate to Settings page and set your Son's Console as HOME for your Gamertag.

In this way your Son can use your Xbox Live Gold and play online without problems.

Your Son have also access to your game/DLC library (digital purchase).

It depends on how you have your gold set up. You can only share gold on 1 console at a time. If the gold is tied to one of your son's accounts, they would need to set the other son's console as their Home console in order to share the gold with the other
son. The son with gold can then continue to use gold as long as he is signed into Live on the non-Home console. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/my-home-xbox

If the gold is tied to your account, you would only be able to share on 1 of the 2 consoles. Then you would either need to be signed into the non-Home console or purchase gold on the 2nd son's accounts.

I share live with my son and any game either of us gets digitally allows the other to play.he has his own xbox upstairs.

My other son shares live with his brother and also digital games.

We also share disc games just only 1 can play as its a disc.

I have 4 xbox's in my house and only pay for 2 gold subs.

I could prob get away with 1 but my oldest is pain and wants his own so i make him share
