Sharing Xbox Live account on the Xbox One console

I have read that I can share my Xbox Live account with my kids (for online play). I have not found a way to do that without me being logged on first. How do I setup the console so other family members can use this console to play online without me being
    there to log in?

    :)

    Hi there,

It's best to have each user have their own account.

On an Xbox One, you only need one account with a Live subscription. The account that has the subscription can make a console it's home console so games and the Live subscription will be shared with all users on that console. More info can be found here:

Hey MsTheGamer290! To share Xbox Live Gold you will want the master account to set the family's Xbox console as their Home Console. This will allow all users that play on that Xbox to utilize Xbox Live Gold features and games owned by the master account.
For more information on home consoles and Gold sharing, please check out the "Using Xbox Live Gold sharing features on Xbox One" page. Thanks!

Sounds like you want to add your kids to your family. Log in with your gamertag and head to Settings then scroll right until you see Add To Family. Add the other family members there and they'll be able to share your Gold membership.

I have added the kids to the family, the problem is that I have to physically logon for the kids to be able to play online. I was looking for a way for them to be able to play online without me having to logon to my account first.

It looks like Microsoft would add a way for the console to login with my credentials every time the console boots, but I would still need to enter my password to access my profile.

CloudStrife 900 had the answer. The key was setting the Xbox as my home console.

Xbox Live gold vs Game pass for 3 childs,

    Hi there,

Xbox Live Gold and Game pass can be shared on the Home console for the account that has the subscriptions.

Which means that any other account on that console can benefit from the features of the subscriptions.

As far as I know it doesn't matter if it's a child account or adult account that has the subscriptions as long as the account with the subscriptions has set the console as their Home console.

Keep in mind that only One console can be set as Home console, and the sharing for Gold and Gamepass will thus only work on that console.

When the account with the subscriptions logs in on another console that account will be able to use the Gold and Gamepass features there too, but it won't be shared on that console.

    Two xboxes and three accounts

If only one account has gold then that account can get onto xbox live on any console regardless of the "my home xbox" feature.

Xbox live sharing does not work on xbox 360, so you will need more subscriptions for each other account that doesn't have gold.

On the xbox one the my home xbox feature will share xbox live gold and digital games (not all DLC) to all other accounts on that console when the account with gold is the "my home xbox" account but that does not share to backwards compatible games on xbox
    one.

I have xbox live on the xbox one but the same account doesn't have live on the xbox 360

    Hey there,

It looks like the account you're posting from is an Xbox Live Silver account. Is there an Xbox Live Gold account on your Xbox One console that was sharing the Gold privileges with your account? With the Xbox One Home feature, you can share Xbox Live Gold
with any other account that is signed into that console, however that feature does not work on an Xbox 360 console, which is why you may notice that Gold features work on one console and not the other.

Keep us posted if that helps clear up what the issue may be.
