  1. Sharing Xbox games with a pass, can it be more than 2 consoles? Newbie needs help :(

Right so, total newbie here. Partner has Xbox with live pass, shared with our daughters Xbox. I’ve found his old Xbox and would like to play some games. Questions, if I create my own Xbox sign in ( that’s a Microsoft account??) sign in and pay my own game pass can I still use games that were originally on that Xbox? Or have I got to start from scratch? I don’t want to buy games only to find out I can use the ones on there. Or do I reset the whole Xbox and start from beginning and buy everything myself?

    Xbox live

My wife and I share a subscription because I game way more than her. What we do is share gold on my home Xbox(hers) and have hers set to my home Xbox to allow this. Then I dont need to be signed into her Xbox for her to play online. Do the same, just need
    a second account.

Great choice on game your kids made.
We dont need 2 copies of the game, we can both consoles working with the game at the same time. I think I will get the ultimate pass, and 1 additional live pass.

can use at the same time

Only one can use Xbox Game Pass. You can however share the games that are on Xbox Game Pass with someone else using the Home Xbox setting on the console.

Bear in mind this feature can only be used in the same household if there is more than one console in it. Sharing games to other users in other households is against the terms of use, and can get you suspended or banned for doing it.

Ubisoft recently corrected an issue that allowed more content than intended being shared on Xbox. Players can share Year Pass operators with profiles on the same console.

How do i play online with a account that doesn’t have gamepass

Hi AJ! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm afraid it is not possible to play online without either of these 2 subscriptions: Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate unless there is an account with an active subscription that is game sharing/set as home Xbox on your console.

Based on your description, an account with an Xbox Game Pass subscription is set as home Xbox (subscription sharing) on your console however you are still unable to play online, is that correct?

If yes, this could mean that the account with the subscription that is set as home Xbox might have its subscription expired already or that the active subscription is neither Core nor Ultimate.

You need to contact the owner of that account if it still has an active subscription by confirming it on account.microsoft.com > services and subscription.

You may also check these links for more information regarding these 2 subscriptions:

Getting my kids their own Xboxes

Hi! My name is Ben a fellow member here in the community, not a Microsoft employee. Hope you are doing well!

With regards to the game sharing, a game can only be shared on console by the means of the Home Xbox feature. If only 1 user owns the game, that user can only share it one console at a time. Any users who sign in on that home console will be able to play the games that the owner has including the benefits of the subscription such as Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate.

If you plan to have 2 additional console, you can share your games and subscriptions into 1 of those consoles only. The other user will need to buy a game and subscription in order to play, such as Diablo 4. For multiplayer games Xbox Live Gold subscription is actually needed, but if you prefer to have your kids play multiple game titles I would suggest to go for an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate instead. Game Pass Ultimate is a combination of Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass subscription so it is like 2 in 1 subscription where you will be able to play online and access games from the Game Pass library title that you can find here https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/games

With regards to their saved games, are they playing it on their own account? If so, once they sign in their own account on their own console those saved games will be accesible there as well since game saves are also saved in the cloud. In case you are in a country where Game Pass Friends & family is available, you can take advantage of this subscription plan instead here is the link for FAQ's about it https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptio...

If it is available in your country, you may get it instead as this subscription can be shared per users account not just via Home console. The only problem I can think of that you might experience with the Home console is that it can really be shared to one console at a time only, if you set another console as the Home Xbox then it will be deactivated from the previous console.

I hope the information helps. Feel free to response here or post back in the community if you have other questions and we will be more than happy to share our knowledge to assist.

    Kind regards,

    Ben
