Discus and support Sharing screenshots from games outside of the Xbox app in XBoX Rewards & Social to solve the problem; Is there really no way to share screenshots or clips from games that aren't on the Xbox gamepass app anymore?     Sharing screenshots from games outside of the Xbox app


    Is there really no way to share screenshots or clips from games that aren't on the Xbox gamepass app anymore? I remember you used to be able to, but now I can't find any way to do it. I already tried using the Xbox game dvr to take screenshots and share them, but to no avail. Please let me know if I'm missing something, or if they just took away the feature entirely.

    Hello nnooggoodd,

    To take a Screenshot:

    1. While in game double tap the Xbox Button

    2. When the home screen appears press Y

    Note: if you do not get the option to take a screenshot after double tapping the xbox button you may need to reinstall Game DVR and/or your profile.

    To save a Screenshot:

    1. Open the Game DVR app

    2. With the screenshot you with to save/share press the menu button and select save/share from the menu

    Note: After taking a screenshot there is a delay before the screenshot can be saved or shared. During this time you will not see these options available.

    Hi Gerakine Gallus,

    In some cases, the said error message appears if the video clips or screenshot that you want to share in your Activity feed came from the games or apps that are not bought or came from the Windows Store. Sharing game clips and screenshot normally works with games
    that came from the Windows Store.

    Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Xbox wherein you want to know how to post your game clips/screenshots to the Xbox live feed.

    You can share screenshots to Twitter or create a link for clips which you can post on social media.

    1. Press Win + G to open Xbox Game Bar, then select Widget Menu > Gallery.
    2. To share a game clip or screenshot, select Open file location, then use your app of choice to share your capture.
    Note Game Bar only shows captures that are saved locally on the Windows device you’re using. Captures uploaded to the Xbox network are viewable and shareable only in the Xbox mobile app.
