    Hi Guys,

    Been on live in excess of 10 years now and been plain sailing, had my xbox one since pretty much release just purchased a one S for my son to use in his bedroom and have set it as my home console so we both have access to gold (sons bedroom lounge) very
    exciting, 1st session i started a party he joined with no issue, had a great time on horizon 4. Tried again yesterday and if either one of us starts a party, he always shows as connected his end but he shows as connecting my end. He can hear me through his
    headset, i cant hear him.

    Nat is open, latency 19ms, download 57 upload 18 so no connection issue. Tried to nulify any hardware question, swapped pads/headsets etc.

    I know it sounds crazy but sooooooo many Xbox issues are fixed by that unplug reset!

    Sorry to hear it. Both of you please try powercycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. When you restart your chats should work again.

    Oh my life !!!, cannot and i mean cannot believe i didn't do that in the very first instance......full on day one blunder.

    Suffice to say, its now working. Many many thanks for both your help and very quick reponse.....me and they boy can now take on the world !.

    What Gold features are you trying to use with the account?

    Be aware, that only Multiplayer and Party chat will work. You will NOT be able to get the Gold discounts or free Games with Gold on the non-Gold account, even if the console shares the Gold of the gold-owning account.
