Sharing Gold in Multi-Console Home

My wife and I are preparing to get a second Xbox for our home. We would like to be able to play various games with each other. Currently, our Gold account is active on my profile and I am sharing it with her through our single console.

Once we get a second Xbox, will we each need an active Gold subscription? Is there a way to set up the "home consoles" in a way that we only need one subscription?

How will this affect physical and digital games? For example: Diablo 3 is digital and owned by my profile. Can my wife play it online with me from the other console? If I have a digital copy of Destiny on my home console, can my wife play with me online
using a physical copy on the other console?

To clarify are you sharing your Xbox Live Gold membership via Home Gold, or are you referring to another user sharing their Gold with you? If you're the one sharing Gold, we'd recommend signing into the console you'd like to share your Gold membership on
and ensuring that it's set as your
Home console.

If someone else was sharing Gold with you, you'll need to reach out to that person to help verify that the console you're playing on is set as the Home console for their account.

 

How do I share fold with child account while also game sharing with another xbox

The "Home Console" sharing shares Gold and your games with the Home Console at the same time.

There is no way to separate Gold sharing from game sharing.

However, while you are signed in on any console, that console also gets to share your Gold and games, as long as you are signed in.

So your child can play online multiplayer on the console you're currently signed in on, while someone else can also use your Gold and games on the Home Console.

 

You can only have one console set as your Home console at a time. So if you were to leave your current console as your Home console, your wife can still access your gold and games from that console and you can play online and use your games on second console
since they are tied to your account.

 

From what I understand about how sharing works, you would need to make the 2nd console your "home" console and the 1st console your wife's "home" console. On the 1st console, make sure your account is part of her family and on the 2nd console make sure she
is a part of your family. This should enable you and her to play anything together that is purchased under either account on either console.
