Sharing digital dowloaded games stopped working

I bought an Xbox One X yesterday and moved the old Xbox One to another location in the same house. My son and I both have our own Gold accounts and both have logged in on both Xbox's. Got the new Xbone X set up and downloaded all the old content on it
and played several games of PubG together on different Xbox's and all of a sudden it's asking him if he owns the game and will no longer let him play. The old Xbox is set to Home and the new Xbox X is not. What am I missing?

Game sharing stopped working

Hey, my brother and I share games across xboxes. His xbox has my account set to home xbox and vice versa so we can game share. For some reason though my Xbox won't let me play games he has bought even though my Xbox says his account is set up to have my
Xbox as his home xbox. I'm sorry if that's confusing, I'm just looking for a solution and would like some help. Thank you very much.

Was he playing on the old console or the new one? He can only share the games on the Home console.

 

He is playing on the new Xbox on his account not set to home. I'm playing on the old xbox on my account set to home. Right now the only way it seems to work is with him playing on my account on the new xbox and me playing his account
on the old one. All games have been purchased on my account.

 

Then you need to set whichever console he is playing on as your Home console.

 

So set the new Xbox to "home" and remove "home" from the old one?

 

Yes. Games can only be shared on the Home console. So if he is going to be using the new console, you would need to set that as your Home so he can access any games on your account.
