Sharing content between 2 Xbox ones

We have bought a second Xbox one so my boys have 1 each. The only trouble I have is all the map packs and weapons we have bought on games like cod and Minecraft are all on one console. As you cannot use the same gamertag on 2 different consoles and all the
content associated with it, is it possible for me to copy everything from the original ones hard drive and copy it to another one, would that give me all the stuff we have purchased? Would be too expensive to have to buy it all again

I understand it does work but I wish Microsoft would add the ability to maybe have 2 home xboxs' to me that makes more sense than only being able to set one home Xbox. I think my wife and I should be able to play on either console at the same time. I'm not
one of those people who really likes to complain or anything and I am very happy that I am able to share my games with my wife so I don't need to purchase a second copy. I just wish it was streamlined a tiny bit more then I would say the home sharing would
be perfect. Thanks for all the input.

The home sharing works but I think I see the problem you are having. I will explain as best I can to how it works

If you bought games using your account, you don't need to sign in to Xbox 2 (Your wife's xbox) to play them as it is your Home Xbox but, if you want play them on Xbox 1, your account needs to be signed in as it is not your Home Xbox.

That means, even if your account's main Xbox is Xbox 2, you will need to sign in as it's not your Home Xbox as locked by the system.

This happens because your Home Xbox will just know that it's your main account so it will automatically validate the game but to play it on the other Xbox, you must be signed in so that it will validate it somewhat manually through logging in but it has
to remain logged in to keep that validation.

 

Copying everything would put everything on both consoles, but you can only share content on 1 console at a time. If everything is connected to your account, you would have to set one of the consoles as your Home console. They can access the content on that
console. Otherwise, you would have to be signed in on the other console in order for them to access the content.
