Sharing a game between two accounts

Hello,

I have $25 credit on a microsoft account that is NOT my main xbox account. Can I sign into this account with the $25 credit on my xbox, purchase a game, then sign back into my main xbox account and be able to play the game I purchased via another account?
Is this possible?

Xbox One Online Subscription Sharing

Douchbag rip-off prevention. too laxxed if you ask me. You can game share between two Xboxes with two different account holders, both paying for Xbox Live. But both would have to trust the other person completely. This would allow two people to each play the same copy of the game on their home consoles. But you already reap the benefits of free Gold when playing on the same console anyway. Microsoft and the Xbox One is pretty lenient with general account sharing, game sharing and free Gold sharing. no need to rape the system. Just play regularly. Between sales, I doubt you two would be buying that may games. sounds like a bit like overkill just to play CoD. theres also some down sides to doing the game sharing thing too, ya know.

 

Sharing DLC between two accounts in the same console

When you purchase content it is tied to the console it was purchased on as well as the console it was purchased on. That console license allows all profiles on a console to share the content. So yes, if you purchase something with Account #1, Account #2
will have access and vice versa.

There are a few pieces of DLC that can't be shared, but it's very few. And avatar content cannot be shared that way.

 

Yes. If it's on the One, you'll need to set the console as the Home console for that account in order to share the game.

 

@Smwutches is correct.. Once I set this up, my whole family can enjoy all purchased games. The one area that not shared is the Avatar add ons, which I hope they change.

Or you could simply buy a game as a gift with your account that has the money, and gift it to your main account.

Your main account gets a message with a 5x5 redeem code, and then your main account can redeem the game.

But as the others already said, as long as your main account is playing on the console that your buyer account has set as their Home Console, your main account can also play the game.

 

As long as you make one of the account your home account, then it should work.

 

You can't make an "account" a home account.

An account can set a specific console as that account's Home Console.

That way, this "Home Console" can share all games and memberships like Live Gold and Game Pass games with any account playing on that console.

So it's not an account that is a home account, but a console that an account sets as a Home Console.
