    Share to Twitter on Xbox One X - 1080p vs 720p


    I recently bought an Xbox One X. A few days ago I shared game captures videos to Twitter without issue. However I changed my settings from 720p to 1080p and now my newer clips can no longer be shared. When I try it gives me a message
    along the lines of “Something went wrong, try again later”. I can go back and upload old 720p clips. I’ve done several power cycles but that hasn’t helped.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

    xbox 360 GPU can handle 1080p. It depends on the developer graphic preference (resolution of textures and AA preference). Most developers prefer 720p as its the easiest resolution to upscale and downscale without any problems. 720p has a good ratio for antiliasing.
    Read up in wiki for 720p vs 1080p. 720p has some advantages over 1080p.

    Something that i learn, 1080p as a native may cause distortion on lower resolution TVs.

    Xbox Series X|S and lower resolutions

    The Xbox Series S/X only has a HDMI socket for display, so it will only support that display option. As for 720p or 1080p, it should support 1080p, but 720p is anyone's guess, as Microsoft haven't stated if it supports 720p or not.

    Gave X1 a shot, but it really is going to be lagging behind this Gen

    As I said above the resolution really doesn't matter as far as 1080p vs 720p what really matters is the jaggies in whatever resolution. I think it's safe to say a 720p game with NO jaggies trumps a 1080p jagged-to-death picture everyday.
