Shadow of Mordor only plays when Xbox LIVE is on my 360...

... but my WiFi isn't very good and have to test my connection several times before it kicks in. Unless Xbox LIVE is connected the game just shows a black screen with a little white circle in the bottom corner. With LIVE on no problem with no connection
no game.

Bottom line: I want to play the game without having to go Xbox LIVE. I have friends who still play 360 games and have no internet. If they had thid game they would be screwed.

I've loaded the 1st disc and the 2 FREE downloads, so is this the way it is - NO LIVE = NO GAME?

I just recently bought the season pass for shadow of mordor here on Xbox.com. And i can't use the season pass because i only have shadow of mordor on 360!

Before i bought the season pass they could atleast have warned me that i can only use it if i have shadow of mordor on One. Can't they just make it backwards compability?

If not i just wasted money on something i can't use...

offline mode. This allows you to play and enjoy your games without worrying about going online. Just remember since you wont be connected to our servers, our cloud save system will not be able to help you, unless you occasionally go back online.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Choose Network.
4. Select Network settings > Go offline.

but the 360 console doesn't have the option to go offline from the network settings. It's just that I only go online when starting a new game for updates. LIVE would normally come on automatic but maybe coz
of my WiFi sometimes does but mostly not, which isn't a problem except for SHADOW OF MORDOR only plays when LIVE is on. I start the game and get a small circle that rotates to indicate loading but then the machine stops and is frozen.

 

SOLUTION:

So what I ended up doing and seems to solve my problem on the Xbox360,
I went into system settings and connected devices, smart glass what ever on turn off 2 spots. I'm 66 and ain't into smart phones and all that, just have a 360 and small cheap PC.

Sorry to hear about the issue with the game. Yes unfortunately the 360 doesn't have an off line mode option. The phone was picking you up as signed in that is why wasn't able to play offline. Glad you was able to find the solution. Feel free to come back

Hmmm! I thought I had it sussed but today back to the disc freezing without LIVE on, traded the game in coz I couldn't be bothered testing my connection for 5 minutes every time.
