Severe graphical glitches after 4k update

After downloading and installing the 4k update for Quantum Break, the game is utterly unplayable now due to some very severe graphical glitches.

The shadows seem to be broken, as there are now polygon shaped artifacts flickering across the geometry and character models. This was not present when I last played the game on a regular Xbox one.

My X (project Scorpio edition) is working perfectly as every other X enhanced game looks fine. I have tried multiple different installs on both the internal HDD and an external one but but nothing helps. I have also tried playing the game with and without
the live action cutscenes installed and it makes no difference. There's also some severe stuttering during some of the in game cutscenes that I didn't notice before.

Why has the so called "enhanced" 4k "upgrade" broken the game?

Expect a few graphical glitches, I haven't had any issues.

 

Edit: Tried the game on a regular Xbox one and the issue isn't present, this is an Xbox one X specific issue and makes the game unplayable due to how ugly it looks. Fix this, I didn't pay top money for a 4k system that breaks games.

A corrupted data may cause your game is experiencing severe graphical glitches. Here are steps on how to troubleshoot video and graphics issues:



1. Determine which version of DirectX is currently on your computer. Click Start, and then type dxdiag in the search box. Hit Enter. Under the System tab, make sure that the DirectX Version is DirectX 12.



2. Check to make sure you are running the latest version of Java. Start the Java app (or program) on your computer. Tap or click the Update tab in the Java Control Panel. Then, tap or click Update Now. Solution



3. Make sure your computer is properly ventilated. Games use more power than most other apps or programs, which generates more heat. Make sure that the computer fan's exhaust vent is not blocked. Solution



4. Turn down your graphics and sound settings. Scaling down your graphics and audio settings may allow the game to run smoother and be more stable on your computer.



Full Screen Anti-Aliasing (FSAA) – Turning this off or lowering it from the highest settings can make a big difference, at the cost of some jagged edges in the graphics.



Resolution – The higher the resolution the harder your graphics processing unit (GPU) has to work. Lowering the resolution can have a big impact with fairly little loss in graphic quality. Shadows – Simple shadows are easier to draw.



Shadows turned off is the easiest of all. Texture/Detail – Lower detail textures aren’t as crisp but will make the game easier for your system to manage.



Surround Sound – Disabling surround sound eases the strain on your sound hardware.

Why in earth are you giving me tech support for the pc version? I've stated, quite clearly, that this issue is on the Xbox one X version of the game. I didn't even mention the PC once. It's not like I've even posted in the wrong subforum, this is the Xbox
one section after all.

I agree that there seem to be some pretty serious graphical bugs with the Xbox One X version of the game. I've been seeing shadows glitch, god/light rays being really low quality where they look pixelated, water puddles flickering as I move the camera, and
in this video objects weren't loading.

Not helpful. 4k patch has broken the game, you guys need to fix it, my hardware is working perfectly.

 

Yeah it's pretty obvious that the so called 4k upgrade has broken this game. Way to go Microsoft! Patch this!! The shadow issue is what I'm seeing too and i can't play the game because it's too distracting.

Yeah my TV is a 4k HDR10 Samsung, it's nothing to do with my tech, Digital Foundry has proven the game is broken in their latest video:

The 4k patch was not tested properly and it has broken the graphics. Now, can we please stop assuming that the consumer is the one at fault now and actually acknowledge that it's with the game itself and needs fixing?

 

So we cant link videos to youtube on here to show what the problem is, or to use as proof that something is wrong? Im trying to include a video that talks in depth what the problem is and what could be done to fix it but everytime i try to post it the forum
just auto deletes it!
